For the carnivores: How do you like your steak done?
How do y'all like your steak cooked at restaurants or in general? I remember reading somewhere that for many people, when they were young they liked their meat well done, but as they got older they preferred meat rarer. I'm kind of like that.
I went to a steakhouse a few weeks ago, and for some reason ordered the meat medium well done. I should have ordered it medium. Nowadays I don't mind pink in it, and another thing is that anything more than medium tends to create those nasty char marks which taste bitter and is cancerous to boot.
I still don't like it real bloody like rare, but don't mind pinkish and juices.

I'm medium rare, always have been. My husband always gets well done. I kept telling him for the longest time that Filet Mignon is not supposed to be well done; it tastes best when it's a little pink. Anyway, he ordered a steak last May and it came back medium instead of well done. He whined a little bit, but ate it anyway. He declared this to be the best steak he's ever had. I told him that's because it's not well done, and cooked like it's supposed to be.

The rarer it is the better it tastes - it just don't LOOK too good when it's all bloody. Chefs HATE people ordering steak well-done, they see it as a complete ruination of their wonderful creation (ha! That rhymes!)

Charred rare. Black on the outside, cold on the inside. Mmmmmmm
I love red meat, but don't really eat it that much anymore. Slows me down.

I'm one of the few beef fans in my family so I hardly ever get to eat a good slab of beef. I'm usually restricted to chicken and pork which is boring to me, lol
Anyway, I always liked it well done but within the past year or so I've been taking tast to medium well done.

Knock the horns off, wipe the ass and send it out rare. That's how I take my steaks.

Usually, I get it medium rare, but will gnaw on a chunk of meat anywhere from the rare to medium scale.

Well I'm not much of a steak person, so I get it well done.

Does anyone know how to re-heat a leftover steak without cooking it all the way through? I ordered a medium-rare steak at Outback the other night and took the leftovers home. When I heated it up in the microwave for 30 seconds, it had been cooked to well done.

I used to waitress in high school, and there was this guy who used to order his steak very rare. He'd say, "Just walk it in front of the grill."
I'm a medium rare fan. If it comes rarer, I'll eat it. If it's more well-done, I'll send it back.
