    Default Need help with wine

I'm cooking Chicken with 40 cloves of garlic tomorrow night. (Awesome - will post recipe). I thought fresh green beans and some herbed rice.

Someone is bringing white wine but I really want to drink red with the meal. Full bodied? Something lighter? I want to try something new.

I would go for a lighter Pinot Noir or even a Merlot. I don't think you want anything too heavy, but if you prefer that, maybe a Syrah? Let me think.

There's a recipe for green rice that I posted a while back. It is wonderful -- it's with spinach and cilantro.

Yes - with such delicate flavours you don't want a great big red Shiraz or CabSav to bully your tastebuds. I'm not a major red wine fan, I prefer white, but as PB says a Pinot Noir (more expensive but worth it) is a good idea or the Merlot but get some advice because it can be a bit wishy washy.

Of course, they should all be from Australia!

Just because you're offended doesn't mean you're right.

I've had Australian Shiraz and it's delicious.

I bought a Robert Mondavi Cabernet. Surprised myself that I didn't go French, but Mondavi is so reliable.

    Need a nap before cooking
