Lo-Carb Inspiration Please
I'm doing the pre-summer panic Lo-Carb diet which seems to be the only one that works for me as I am a hardened carb addict and usually eat WAY too much bread/pasta etc with catastrophic results.
I can/will eat pretty much anything but am finding the daily grind of grilled meat/chicken/fish with plain salad/veggies and the occasional egg and very limited fruit is getting VERY tedious (plus I am constipated to hell).
Anyone know some good lo-carb dishes (no more than 5g carb) to relieve the boredom (and maybe my bowels)??

Do you ever use soya powder? You can make things like cheese pancakes with them. Take a cup of cottage cheese, 6 eggs, 3 tablespoons soya powder, 3 tablespoons butter and 1 teaspoon salt. Mix to smooth in blender. Heat an olied griddle until really hot. Then cook like pancakes. The recipe makes 6 servings and each has 2.6 grams of carbs.

Thanks! I'll try those. There's an excellent UK product, sadly not available in Oz, called Quorn. It's a kinda of TVP (textured vegetable protein) basically made from mushrooms and made into mince, burgers, sausages, etc. Some of the Quorn "TV dinners" are really good. Oh well.

I love spaghetti squash. Either I bake it as a side dish with butter and a little maple syrup and cinnamon on it, or steam it and use it in place of spaghetti with sauce. Good stuff! Good for the poops, too.

They have lots of other good recipes on the site as well.

Yeah, it's one of my favourites. Every recipe I have made from the site has been good, and the site looks great, too.

Thanks! The Liver Pate looks good - unfortunately I can't have the toast to accompany it! I am in severe bread withdrawal........

You could put the pate in an endive leaf or something. Or even a celery stick.
