I remember eating this stuff at other people's houses when I was a kid. I should tell my mom how grateful I am that she never cooked like this.

neither did my mother's mother. that's probably why she thought it was such a delicacy - because she only got to eat it at other people's houses. she also used to think devilled ham and canned grapes were a delicacy that only fancy people ate

Did we have a thread that was either devoted or derailed into a jello mold war?

How could I forget Lobe's Norwegian jello monstrosity- that thing oozes evil.

Oh my dear lord, the pictures. If I'd grown up on these monstrosities I would be a thin person because they would turn me off food forever.

It always amazes me that almost half of that monstrosity has been eaten, or at the very least served. Scary.

I dunno, it looks kind of fresh and pretty compared to the shit in the article.

I was just gonna say that Lobes, that you know it's messed up when even that looks more edible than the pics in the OP. My mind is still boggled by how that can be.

I've experienced the same & my guess is our eyeballs just got violated by 20 pictures of Salmonella-colored goo. Now we appreciate the psychedelic rainbow that is this picture..
Besides that I'm not certain that the spooky object in the photo hasn't moved everytime it shows up here.

i've had the french version, fromage de tête, and it's actually pretty tasty. jelly isn't necessarily a bad thing. a lot of terrines use it and they can be delicious if well made.
