Foods that you stock up on
What food do you always have in your cupboard/pantry?
I just realized that I get a chocolate craving so I should stock up on some candy bars...
Staples we have in our cupboard...dried stuff like pasta and other types of noodles, seaweed (for miso soup n things), canned food, some sauces (e.g. soy sauce), lots of different teas, that's about it, all boring stuff...
I don't have any sweets *gets cranky*

Pasta, lots of black beans/kidney beans. Crap like that. Nothing at all exciting.

Re: Foods that you stock up on
I live with a packrat so all kinds of stuff. When I first met hubby he had dozens and dozens of cans of the same things -- peaches, peas, carrots, eww. I stock up on staples: beans, pasta, rice, popcorn, and other stuff that's on sale that I know I'll use. I have to keep reminding hubby that even if we couldn't leave the house for a week, we'd be just fine. Hell, for a month!
I also stock up on butter (I freeze it) and frozen foods from time to time.

Peanut butter - I'd go into convulsions if I didn't have peanut butter every day.

Re: Foods that you stock up on
bottled water, fruit (apples especially, there are ALWAYS apples in my house), bagels and cream cheese (as does any Jewish home), and those little tuna lunch packs-they are easy to grab on your way out the door, my mom keeps buying them every time she goes grocery shopping.

Re: Foods that you stock up on
Pasta, rice, cans of beans, cans of tomatoes, tomato puree, vegetable stock, noodles, tea (my god I have far too much tea) coffee, random veggie meals I can put in the freezer when they're on reduced to clear, sauces and vinegar. I'm in a student house, we have two cupboards each and one cupboard is just all condiments. Four different vinegars, sauces, herbs, spices, stock. It's ridiculous!

Re: Foods that you stock up on
Things I don't want to run out of:
Flour
Sugar
Baking Soda/Powder
Eggs
Milk
Crisco
Rice
Pasta (buy LOADS of it when on sale)
Baby Carrots
PEPSI
and my weird one; Top ramen. My kids love them for snacking after school; buy by the case when they are on sale.
I like to cook from scratch so I consider these basic must have items. I can use up whatever meat and veggie I've got and come up with SOMETHING for dinner. I check these every time I shop and try to have one of each in reserve all the time.
The pepsi I try not to run out of so I don't take it out on my family when I'm in withdrawal.

Re: Foods that you stock up on
I tend to stock up on cans of chickpeas ( I make my own hummus about twice a week), Diet Pepsi, these Pita chips from Costco, and lemons (for the hummus).

Re: Foods that you stock up on
Well, first and foremost-coffee.
Also honey, pasta, some kind of muesli, herbal teas and...that's it. I think that's all I actually have in my cupboard right now. And some cheese in the fridge.
