I've been on a few but this one stands out. My bf and I at the time went on a picnic in a remote national park. It was the first really nice day of summer but it was a weekday and no one was around.

We had some chicken and potato salad and watermelon and lots and lots of wine, and a toke or two. One thing led to another and we started to uh, you know, seriously make out. Clothing was removed. Remember, we hadn't seen anyone in hours. The very second bf clambered on top, an entire school group appeared out of nowhere. I'll never forget the teacher frantically yelling at the kids to run, run, run! We were frozen, but bf couldn't move as I was naked and didn't want to traumatize the young 'uns further. Bf at least he had his shirt on.

We waited until the last kid was out of sight before erupting into gales of laughter while I put my clothes back on. I think we laughed for about two hours off and on. We decided to save the nooky until we got home. What are the odds of that happening? And we never saw anybody else for the rest of the time we were there.

Boy, never been to many picnics. Been to a few Clambakes and cook outs.

Nothing really that exciting though. The Clambakes, got really really drunk--and full. Gee, surprise.

I've only ever been on one picnic.. it was on Parliament Hill, on the huge massive lawn in front of the Parliament buildings.. people were playing frisbee, relaxing in the sun and visiting the Eternal Flame thing..

We had matza crackers, and creamcheese..also some mandarin oranges, SO juicy.. some Mounties came over, said hi.. we offered some orange wedges to the mounties, and they took some before wandering off to get pictures taken with tiny flocks of chattering japanese tourists.

It was such a Canadian experience

Looked exactly like this, just less people and more frisbees.

We should totally have a Torontonian-GRockers picnic! But, Grimmy, please, no seal burgers...

Pfft, you have to grill them there, on the ice. Seal doesn't transport well

Hubby and I were on our anniversary trip to Tishomingo State Park here in Mississippi in our little rustic cabin (absolutely no tv!!) Sunday we had done just about all the things the park had to offer so I suggested we drive down the Trace*and have a picnic. We drove to the Tennessee River and had a picnic right by the water. It was really nice. Thinking about it makes me so want to do it again! Have been trying to decide on what to do this year-our anniversary isn't until Septmeber, but I like to plan ahead!

*The Trace is the Natchez Trace-440 some odd miles that goes from Natchz to central Tennessee...it was used for travel/trade. Not even sure when it was first used but looooonnnng time ago. If you are interested try http://scenictrace.com
It really is a nice place to go. There are lots of historical places to stop. Just beware-the speed limit is like 50 mph!

I've only been to family picnics and they're pretty much interchangable so they're not that interesting.

The only memorable picnic I can remember is when we were at Dogde Park (A Michigan state park) and all of a sudden it got dark and there was thunder everywhere. The little kids got real scared and all ran to the parking lot. My realtives had to chase them down all the while it startred raining hard and the food was ruined.

That picnic was memorable because it sucked so bad.

Default Most memorable picnic you've ever been to

My most memorable picnics were from when I was a kid. Grew up on the remote west coast of Vancouver Island. The weather sucked about 90% of the time - way too much rain. But we had a boat, so my parents would pack thermoses of hot chocolate and coffee, sandwiches, hardboiled eggs, and they and us kids would motor off up the inlet. Sometimes we'd land and go exploring, sometimes we'd just float around and eat. Anytime it's overcast and raining (way too often in Vancouver!), I like to think about us floating around in our little boat, drinking hot chocolate to stay warm. Not a perfect picnic, but very memorable!

PB-last night the boyfriend took me out to celebrate our 2 year anniversary since he was in Israel for the real thing. He took me to a park near his house for stargazing and we eventually ended up fooling around b/c it was the middle of the night and no one was around, but I kept remembering your story
