    Default Happy Vegetarian Week!

Ok so 22-28 May is National Vegetarian Week (at least here in the UK), how about people sharing some of their fave vegetarian recipes and tips?

Probably the best thing I learnt from my mother is vegetable soups; even if you can't cook, they absolutely cannot go wrong (she says over-confidently) and veggie soups are probably the most nutritious thing you can make

    Any more info?

Almost anything can be turned into a vegetarian or vegan receipe. I don't get the special vegetarian receipes requiring a bunch of weird ingredients. Just last night I made an easy delicious hot fudge pudding cake that can easily be made vegan! Mine almost was except the margarine I used had milk in it.

I love the fried ones but don't make them too often because they are so greasy. I use the Fantastic brand too just didn't realize you could bake them. I'll try it! thanks

(baby steps moomies!) Gimme an A for my effort

Thinking of just eating fish and will hopefully cut down poultry as well.

I just bought some veggie hot dogs yesterday, too!

I'm not veggie by any means (could never, honestly. you guys have some willpower), but i don't eat much red meat at all. But Moomies, Morningstar Farms and Garden Burger are soooo delicious, even better than beef burgers. And they have so many different varieties and products you won't get bored

What kind of meat substitues are out there?

Lets say I wanted to cook a dish that I need to use chicken with. What can I use instead of chicken in that case?
Should I be using that veggie dog in it?

    (soryy I'm a veggie noob!)

If it's not too much trouble, can you give me some examples of meat subs?

Thanks monkey! I'll look for the morning star products next time I'm at the store.

The veggie dogs I got are by Yves!

Both Yves and LightLife make 'beef' and 'chicken' strips.

Some of the Yves products at my local Sobey's are: Good Burger, Veggie Dogs, Tofu Dogs, Jumbo Chili Dogs, Bratwurst, Teriyaki Kabobs, Souvlaki Kabobs, Deli Meats [Cajun Chicken, Roast Beef, Turkey, Ham, Salami, Bologna], Pizza Pepperoni, Sausage Patties, Sausage Links, Ground Round [Regular, Italian, Mexican], the above mentioned meat strips.

LightLife makes a wicked boil-in-bag Salisbury Steak. Yum!
