Default Where do you store your bread (and other baked goods)?

I don't like leaving bread out on the counter cuz I do think that it gets moldy faster regardless of how new/old it is. I usually keep it in the fridge. Does anyone else keep bread in the fridge? I also freeze it if we are not eating the whole loaf fast enough or I buy them on sale or something and have more than enough.

If you think it's crazy, you ain't seen a thing. Just wait until we're goin down in flames.

I know you are supposed to keep bread out or in a bread bin. I used to but like you say it wen't mouldy super fast. I was throwing loads away. Now I store it in the fridge, as long as its in a bag it doesn't go too hard too quickly.

EDIT: ^^ Washing Machine?! you being funny?!

I actually have several plastic bread storage bins that I keep on top of the fridge. Bread doesn't last around here long enough to mold or get stale with teenagers around.

I didn't realize keeping it in the fridge was this common!

Prince Phillip eats it too quickly for it to go bad. I eat two slices or less a week and he eats the rest.

Haha! No, I've been sharing a flat with my boyfriend for a couple of years and we could never get our landlord to fix the bloody washing machine. Since our kitchen is so small, we store food in the washing machine - just packeted stuff like crisps and bread - and have our washing courier-ed (?) home to my mother

At home we keep it on the kitchen top, wrapped in its bag.

I keep mine in a wall safe with a timer switch that opens for 3 minutes every morning so I can grab enough to make the kids' lunchboxes. Otherwise it is kept securely locked away from this Carbo Addict.
