Good ideas for a take-to-work/school lunch.
I'm so sick of your typical like sandwich and a can of juice/soda lunch. Like, I guess I could get a bit more fancy with the kinds of sandwiches I make, but I'd love to have something different.
So, basically, anybody have any things that are easy and good for lunches that you're taking with your to your job or to school?

Re: Good ideas for a take-to-work/school lunch.
also, with the variety of portable containers it has become far easier to transport just about anything you might like to eat. do you have a microwave available? if so that gives you just about infinite possibility.
my favorite lunch is water to drink, some nice noodles (rice noodles are easy) with crisp veggies (brocolli, carrots, baby corn etc), and an apple and a special k bar for dessert. otherwise i bring leftovers of dinner. incidentally i've begun eating a larger meal at lunch and a smaller one at dinner time because it feels better, not full at night time etc.

Re: Good ideas for a take-to-work/school lunch.
I like to eat easy stuff for lunch, because I am always in a rush in the morning when I am supposed to be making my lunch. I have been eating a big salad with fat free dressing then I make a bean and cheese tortilla. I get a whole wheat tortilla and put 1/3 cup of black beans and 1 oz of low fat cheese and 1/4 cup salsa on top of the tortilla and put it in the microwave until cheese is melted then I put a blop of non fat sour cream on top and enjoy, it is so good and so easy.

I usually have a jacket potato with tuna, a special k bar and a drink, but it does get very boring day after day, and if the deli is shut I just have a boring old sandwich.

Re: Good ideas for a take-to-work/school lunch.
ohmygoodness, do you have access to a refrigerator and/or microwave? That would be helpful to know in suggesting lunch ideas for you.
How about yogurt, carrot sticks, and an apple?
Or a nice pasta salad?
I send lunch with my son and DH every day. DH usually eats leftovers from the previous night, so if you've got a fridge and microwave, I can tell you generally what reheats well.

Re: Good ideas for a take-to-work/school lunch.
I can get access to a microwave, but alas I have no fridge!
I need to get myself a nice lunchbox, just like that one at that blog Lani mentioned! Ah well. Tomorrow is my last day for regular classes until September, so I have all summer to prepare for then! Of course, then I'll be living on campus and I won't have to worry about it... but I plan on working full time in the summer so I can employ these tactics then. If I'm at work, I DO have access to a refigerator though.
