    I dont get it. Why making cakes with zucchini??????????????? doesnt it taste like zucchini????????????????????

    Anyone tried it? what does it taste like?
    I have seen these recipes, but I am hesitating to make them bec they have zucchini even though the chefs claim doesnt taste at like like zuch.

    Never tried it but by the look of it I'd say it probably tastes like chocolate. Carrot cake doesn't taste of carrots either.

    It's still junk food, with maybe 5 calories worth of veggie per slice, which is essentially nothing.

    Zucchini bread is my favorite of all time. I've never tried cake, but I probably would if offered. It cuts down on the sweetness and b/c zuch is such a watery veg (even though you try to drain as much of that away) it keeps things very moist.

    i've had zucchini cake, but not with chocolate... seems like that would overpower the flavour of the zucchini. The one I love has cinnamon and carrot - Carrot and zucchini cake
    My mum used to make one simillar to this all the time.

    I'm with MontanaMama with the zucchini bread love - but then again I can't resist anything you can whack a cream cheese icing or spread on. 'Vegie-cakes' are awesome, I thoroughly recommend them to anyone to try at least once. But Marina is right - it's still cake - no way this counts as one of your five servings of fruit and veg per day!

    The zucchini naturally has a lot of water in it and it is what make the cake/bread so very moist...YUM! I do batches of Zucchini bread once a month and it freezes really well!

    Everyone's always looking for ways to use up their extra zucchini from the garden. It also adds some fiber to cake.

    i haven't made zucchini cake but zucchini bread. its more or less like banana bread but zucchini. i imagine the cake would be moister.

    i love baking with zucchini (bread, cake, muffins, cookies)...it's a good way to use up all of the zucchini we have in the summer.
    white, black, puerto rican/everybody just a freakin'/good times were rollin'.

    keeps things delightfully moist, but you cant taste anything but the chocolate!! still bad for a person though...dammit! it should be like 0 calories now or something!!!

    i don't know that i've ever had chocolate zucchini cake. any baked goods that i usually have with zucchini are generally spice flavored (cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg). i'll have to try chocolate zucchini cake or muffins sometime.
