    Default Spagetti Squash

I know how to cook one but what do you serve with it? I cook them from time to time and just have that to eat for myself but my son wanted to try it for dinner tonight so I dont know what else would be good with it. And do you add any "extras" in it?

I serve it with anything -- chicken, fish, salad, -- it's really just a vegetable that looks a little like spaghetti. I usally sprinkle a little fresh Parmesan and black pepper over it.

Ugh...when my parents first went on Atkins they tried to serve this as normal pasta. It only tastes good [if you are trying to make it taste like spaghetti] if you dump loads of cheese on it. We had it with normal red pasta sauce and it was so bland [again, this is compared to normal spaghetti]...As to extras, I think we just had salad.

It would probably be good sweet, though. I'd mix it with normal squash stuff like butter and maple syrup/brown sugar. Mmmmm...

I made one tonight in fact. I had done up some pork ribs in the slow cooker in a white wine/brown sauce marinade spiked with some cayenne peppers. I quartered the spaghetti squash and baked it, then ate a quarter with some of the marinade over it. I've also had it with tomato sauce and a variety of other toppings - it pretty much goes with anything IMO.

Never heard of it. In the UK 'squash' means undiluted fruit juice, cordial etc which made me think fruity juicy spaghetti? and made me feel

I tried this sweet and I didn't like it much. It has a delicate flavour that doesn't stand up well to heavy sauces. A little butter if you choose, Parmesan and black pepper works well to enhance its flavour.

My mom makes sunomono with spaghetti squash instead of using connyaku/yam noodles. I think the vinegar will counter the sweetness. I've never tried it myself though.

If you think it's crazy, you ain't seen a thing. Just wait until we're goin down in flames.

I just serve it with a little marinara sauce and parmesan cheese.
