I like her criticism of what has happened to Times Square. "If you're a New Yorker and you run into another New Yorker, it's like running into someone in a gay bar in the 1970's. You beging to immediately make excuses for why you're there: 'I'm not really here. I'm just passing through. I'm doing research!'"

That's a really good documentary. Scorsese made it for HBO.

Her 'metropolitan life' is one of the funniest books I've ever read.

All of God's children are not beautiful. Most of God's children are, in fact, barely presentable.

I think there is a huge difference in having a "style" and being fashionable. People that have their own style and wear things well and with confidence is much better than someone that wears all the latest trends, whether they look good or not. Low-rise, skinny jeans/jeggings created a lot of offenders in this category. Just because you can get them up and zippered, doesn't mean you should wear something.
I called yoga pants "the skinny girl's sweatpants" on another forum, and got crucified.

    ^Well they are.

Yesterday an acquaintance who is 4th-generation NYC native, was SO offended at the "men in shorts look disgusting" that she posted a photographic men-in-shorts-festo. It was great. David Bowie looked great in hot pants, rivaled Iman's.

I thought the whole thing was funny, and slightly odd. I even got a "you must be a jealous fattie".
