Ok, I've been wearing the cape more often (generally with jeans and riding boots). I've noticed a few strange looks, which the boyfriend reckons are mostly confusion - like "What is that? Is it a jacket? Wait... she's wearing a cape?!"
But meh, I've been feeling less self-conscious and more awesome. I've concluded that people wearing clothes that are visibly too small for them, leggings where their pants should be, stained sweatpants or ugg boots in public really aren't in a position to question my sartorial decisions.
Wearing the cape is like the kick I get out of wearing a suit... I feel stylish and kinda dramatic. It's lovely and warm, too.
