    Default Prom shoe dilemma

My daughter's prom dress is a deep bright yellow, trimmed in dark gold beading. I have been all over Atlanta looking for shoes. No luck.
They are all too light, the beading on the dress is very dark.

Plus, she is close to the same height as her boyfriend, so to avoid towering over him, she wants to wear flats.

I have googled without finding anything.

    Anyone have any ideas?

Yellow is hard to match...and flats? To her prom? Well, that's her decision.

Try looking for taupe or nude, maybe in ballet slippers. Good luck with that, but that's all I can think of! I'm sure some of the more knowledgeable shoe mavens here can come up with better ideas.

ETA: Oooh wait...see if you can find some white ballet slippers. And get them dyed gold to match the bead work. That would be a help.

She still should wear heels, though.

They were supposed to wear something gold, silver or black. She found the yellow and fell in love with it. I don't know why they are dictating colors at this prom.

It isn't what I would have chosen, but it does look great with her red hair.

I never heard of a prom telling girls what color to wear. Glad MY daughter didn't have that. I wouldn't have had enough bail money.

See if she can find the white satin ballet slippers and get them dyed to match the beadwork on the dress. NOT the yellow. That's the only thing I can come up with at the mo'.

I'd love to see pics of her after the prom. I am sure she'll be gorgeous.

(If all else fails, she can still try to find nude flats...but I'm tellin' ya, that's gonna look terrible with a prom dress. Ugh.)

I don't know if the gold in these are dark enough...but here.

Told ya the shoe maven(s) would show up. If you could find those in dye-able white, then there you go. Because that would look great.

Actually, I don't think the black would be so terrible, but then it IS a prom...so maybe not.

The prom that has the color scheme is her boyfriend's. He goes to a different school.

I am worried the flat shoes will look too casual. I suggested black, but she wasn't receptive.

Dyeing shoes seems to be the only way to go, but I wish she'd just go ahead and wear heels. She says they all take off their shoes anyway...

Thanks everyone who posted pics of shoes. My daughter loved several of them, but was concerned the color might not go. Here is the show she settled on.

If black was out then I was going to suggest a bronze or dark metallic colour too.
