    Default Is Baby Phat ghetto?

Is Baby Phat ghetto or just "urban"? Does anyone like it? Kind of like it? Like some of their stuff? I tend to think most of it is low rent looking. Thoughts?

You can have these for a mere 80 clams:

This for only 82 bucks! (this shit is so overpriced its a joke)

I do like that she uses normal sized models.

    I'd call it all tacky.

Appropriately, I can see Kimora's hand in it.

That skinny overalls atrocity is just....oy vey.

Most of their stuff is tacky and overpriced. My friend has a curvy build and wears Baby Phat jeans and they look good on her.

Sometimes, sexy is showing less and Phat always shows more...guess it just depends on what you find sexy. I almost bought a Phat bathrobe the other day...it was the softest, most luxurious material I'd ever felt and only decided not to buy it because I already have a bathrobe. It was a simple, black terry and had their giant gold cat logo on the back. I found it chic in a very Scarface sort of way. I think Michelle Pfeiffer's wardrobe in that movie provides much of the inspiration for the entire line (no pun intended).

its as ghetto as you can get

"urban" has become code for black. Urban used to mean something else, but when something is now described as urban, it's a euphemism.

A poster above noted that ghetto is anything that comes from Kmart or Walmart, but I would disagree with that. Those are cheap clothes, and in the ghettos here in NY and NJ, you don't see people wearing cheap clothes. Here it's all about the labels. It's hard to get misty eyed over poverty when it wears $200 sneakers, and $600 leather jackets.

All of God's children are not beautiful. Most of God's children are, in fact, barely presentable.

    Total ghetto.

How about we not say ghetto...
let's use a nice big all encompassing word for the line and I think that would be "trash"

Not urban, nor ghetto. Just tacky, like the other post said. Horrible prints and stupid shoes with ugly wedges w/studs.
