    Default Thumb hole sweaters

    Okay, first, why?

Cover up veins and age spots?

Keep the top of hand and palm warm? In Los Angeles?

Somebody had to think up a new trend because ripped shoulders had been done already?

    Did this start with dancers?

You can't eat fried chicken or a hamburger whilst wearing one.

Wait -I'll wear them with these. Perfect!

These have been around forever. They're for people who like long sleeves and are constantly pulling them over their hands. I used to that a lot and would sometimes end up ripping holes into the sleeves accidentally. These come with the holes already made. I don't put holes in my sweaters anymore but I still have one long, soft hoodie that has extra long sleeves with thumb holes and I love it.

    Btw,chalet,where is that sweater from?

Why pull on a sweater? It's by Enza Costa.

One of my soap stars wears them on the show and she tweeted it.

They also used to make sweatshirts for gamers that were kind of like that. It's actually a nice looking sweater, it looks soft and cozy, though I agree fried chicken and hamburgers are out.

Hmm, I'm more disturbed by this (from the link Chalet posted)

I have one and I love it. I'm another one of those people (Sput) who pulls their sleeves down over their hands. Nothing worse than a long sleeve shirt that hits me right at the wrist.

I had a grey leopard print in that same exact style - 1979 high school. Not a flattering style that needs to come back.

But isn't a long sleeved shirt supposta fall on one's wrist? Don't mind me. I push socks down to my ankles because I can't stand anything over my calves.

But see, that would have looked cool in 1979! I just think now it's going to look very Kardashian. Or Mob Wives maybe? I think I had a sweater similar to that in the 80s with some kind of animal print or pattern on it, but even grosser, it was probably on sweatshirt material of some kind. I probably wore it with baggy pants of some kind. I shouldn't even admit these things should I?

I'm another who likes long sleeves covering the hands (mostly to avoid sun spots) so I'd wear that top, but I'd roll them up for eating and the thought of some grubby bint eating greasy chicken skeeves me out.

The wrists get all stretched out of shape, no, no no. I'm very anti the hand sweater, get some fucking gloves or a cardi or coat with pockets if your hands feel so naked. How on earth do you seriously shake hands with that? You don't. This seems nice but should remain a VERY casual item of clothing, to me it's up there with pajamas in public.

Back in the 1980s, we made our own sweaters like this so this is NOT a new trend. REPEAT and RINSE.

I'm one of these people, too. Although I've tried the thumb hole sweaters and I don't like the feel of that either. It's like my thumb is in solitary confinement. I'll stick to finding longer sleeves and pulling them down.
