    Default Wine Gala outfit....and a knee brace...Help!

So, I'm going to a wine tasting event with my girlfriends next weekend. It's being held at a very nice hotel (and we've actually snagged a room there for the night, too).

It's very much of a formal event and my girlfriends and I are going shopping for dresses on Thursday. However, I'm having knee surgery Tuesday (nothing major, I tore my meniscus a week ago), and I will more than likely still be wearing a knee brace.

I'm at a loss of what to wear. I could fit the brace under wide leg pants, but then I'm sure to be the only woman in dress pants. I could also wear a long gown, but (once again) I'm sure I'd be the only one.

Do I just say 'fuck it' and rock the brace out in the open, or go for one of two cover-up options I mentioned? Also, I will obviously have to be in flats, too (sucks, because I'm only 5 foot 3).

Y'all totally rock fashion advice, so I welcome any you have!

I would do a flowy skirt/dress to cover it. Good luck with the surgery!

I'd say 'fuck it' but that's just how I roll.

I'd wear something with a full skirt so you're more comfortable (not a long skirt) and make up a silly story about how you injured yourself doing something exotic, like chasing James Bond down a ski slope.

It would look more bulky and weird if you tried to hide it.

Or you could spice up the knee brace with glitter and wear a very short, spicy dress. Flaunt it!
You could get thin dressy glitter material and cover the brace.
You could be the belle of the ball here. Don't hide it-perk that sucker up!

So far, my current story is that I was attacked by a 300 Samoan (the human kind, not Girl Scout cookie). He bear hugged me and I flipped him over my back, twisting my knee in the process.

Actually, I just slipped on ice while checking my mail.

I think I will do a dress or skirt of some kind. There's no way I'm going to be able to hide the injury anyway because the brace gives me a very noticeable limp.

Besides, a long dress or pants would not look right with flats.

I like the glitter idea. It would be a fun conversation starter.
Hammer pants are an alternative, and look great with flats lol!

I say fuck it!! Wear a gorgeous dress and play up your assets so people won't even be looking at your knee brace or your flat shoes. Rock that knee brace like it's the hottest accessory out. Work it, girl!!

If you have great legs anyway then go with the "fuck it". The brace will be a good conversation starter but remember not to whine.
