Default Australian officials ban Calvin Klein ad for suggesting 'violence and rape'

A risqué Calvin Klein Jeans campaign, starring Lara Stone, has been banned in Australia after the country's Advertising Standards Bureau decided that it was 'suggestive of violence and rape'.
The supermodel, who is married to comedian David Walliams, is the face of the designer label, and can be seen posing with three male models in the controversial image.
Her head is rested on the lap of one, while she is straddled by another.

Controversial: A new Calvin Klein Jeans ad campaign, starring David Walliams' supermodel wife Lara Stone, has been banned in Australia for being 'suggestive of violence and rape'

The advertisement sparked a storm of complaints from sexual assault workers and women's groups after it was posted on billboards across the country.
A spokesman from the Advertising Standards Bureau said that the image was demeaning to both men and women.
'The Board considered that whilst the act depicted could be consensual, the overall impact and most likely impression is that the scene is suggestive of violence and rape,' he said.
'The Board considered that the image was demeaning to women by suggesting that she is a plaything of these men.
'It also demeans men by implying sexualised violence against women.'

Clinical psychologist Alison Grundy, who works with victims of sexual assault, said that the use of sexual violence as a marketing tool was 'a dangerous new low'.
'If we continue to subject future generations of young men to great barrages of aggressive, misogynist, over-sexualised and violent imagery in pornography, movies, computer games and advertising, we will continue to see the rates of sexual violence against women and children that continue unabated today,' she said.

Perhaps I should put this in "unpopular opinions", but I think Zoe Saldana, who's the star of the new Calvin Klein underwear TV ads is so ugly I can't even watch her. She really doesn't have the looks to be photographed in B&W. Painful. The first time I saw one, I thought it was a SNL satirical treatment.

That is a messed-up ad with Lara Stone - but Calvin Klein has been doing objectionable ads, off and on, for decades.

I think Zoe Saldana makes perfect sense for Calvin Klein. Here's one of her ads, along with Christy Turlington's (from WAY back when Turlington was the spokesmodel for Klein's lingerie line):

That's a still photo doctored to hide her ugliness. The actual commercials are horrifying.

I'm reading through the comments on the YouTube Calvin Klein videos, and I don't see anything approaching a negative reaction, except for people who think she needs to eat more:

Yeah, my initial impression was correct. She's ugly as fuck and her acting is beyond embarrassing. "That's Shakespeare, ya know?" Jesus.

Actually I see bored looking dudes, rather than rapists.

She looks kind of like she's been dragged off in a corner of a chain-link fenced area. Her facial expresion looks kind of zoned out. One of the guys appears to be holding her by the hair - underneath her head. Her hands are between her and the guy - not around the guy. The guys have thuggish, greased-back ducktail hair styles. The borders are around the image look kind of like smeared blood.

This is my concern with images of this type.

This brings me to a a question I've wanted to ask in this forum. As most of you are free-thinking and learned posters I feel I will get good honest answers....

How do you really feel during the sexual scenes? It seems almost every movie or TV program has a sexual scene or alludes to sexual acts. I want a good story. Seeing someone naked and wallowing in bed (or wherever) or to hear sexually based jokes all the time is not entertainment for me. The real entertainment in sex is done in real time with a partner of my choice.
