Default Shoe advice for a specific dress

My boyfriend's brother is getting married over Memorial Day weekend, so I'm in need of a casual summer wedding guest dress. I've gone shopping everywhere the past week, but I've only found one dress I liked on me. It just needs to be shortened. Ann Taylor LOFT : Splitneck Ruffle Sleeveless Dress

What color/style shoes would you wear with this? Thanks!

Would you prefer heels or shoes with a flat sole? Personally, I think maybe some cute brown flat sandals would go good with this, but since it's a wedding I'm not sure if that would be appropriate.

What about these, in either black or brown?
Ann Taylor LOFT : Bree Braided Sandals

If you need to make the dress more formal, you could go with something like this:
Diane Von Furstenberg black patent 'Gleam' platform peep toe pumps at Bluefly

Pour la Victoire black patent leather 'Tatienne' sandals at Bluefly

Thanks for all of the suggestions. It's a fairly casual weddings. It's outdoors in Northern Virginia, so it will probably be warm and humid. I would prefer a low kitten heel, but I'm not opposed to flats. Since it's outside, I was thinking of staying away from anything too high. After seeing the suggestions posted, I think I'm liking brown, nude, or silver. Maybe an espadrille wedge? What about white? I don't think I've ever owned a pair of white shoes.

Here are some of the other dresses I am considering.
Maggy London Floral Sateen Sheath Dress - Occasion - Nordstrom
Maggy London Ikat Print Cotton Dress - - Nordstrom
ECI Sleeveless Print Dress - Occasion - Nordstrom

I love these, but both are more than I wanted to spend: Diane von Furstenberg 'Leena' Dress - Occasion - Nordstrom
Leifsdottir 'Siren' Ruffle Dress - Occasion - Nordstrom

be VERY careful with white shoes. it is very easy to look like a nurse, easter outfit, etc. i think your other options would be more chic.

someone just got that dvf dress, penny maybe?

That's my biggest reservation with white shoes. It would look too Eastery.

I'm cool toned- blonde hair, very fair skin. Do you think gold would still work?

^^ I'm very cool-toned too and it's hard for me to make gold work under any circumstances - silver just always looks better on me. Go try it on if you really want to wear gold, but I wouldn't fight it if it doesn't work.

Have you seen that cooler pale gold color? I'm a weird pale and silver looks jacked up on me. Whatever color you go with just get something with dainty straps so the shoes don't overwhelm.

Yes, I have. It's like a platinum that can almost look silver. I'll keep everyone's options in mind and look for something dainty. If I'm not finding anything that works, I may just give up and find another dress . Thanks guys.

i love the first dress you posted. my second choice would be this one:
Ann Taylor LOFT : Bree Braided Sandals

as for shoes, i think gold would look gorgeous with the first dress. i'm very pale and wear cool colours for the most part but i find with certain blues and turquoise, gold looks fabulous, even if you're very pale. i like the ones that were suggested:
Ann Taylor LOFT : Bree Braided Sandals

    or these:
Nanette Lepore olive metallic python print 'Bad Girl Bow' sandals at Bluefly

Pour la Victoire gold metallic leather 'Ellie' sandals at Bluefly

Kenneth Cole New York green snake print leather 'Strappy Hour' sandals at Bluefly

Claudia Ciuti bronze leather 'Azalea' sandals at Bluefly

Stuart Weitzman silver kid leather 'Esteem' sandals at Bluefly

Elie Tahari ivory snakeskin 'Natalie' wedges at Bluefly
