Jesus, she was so hot in that movie. And funny. Absolutely love her.

La Folie - you have Iranian ancestry?

^Not at all. I'm half Portuguese, half Algerian. So I have Muslim relatives (not my mum though, and I've only met some of her family one - twice actually, but the first time I was only 9 months old).

Okay. I always thought you had Algerian ancestry. Just like your favorite - Sofia Boutella!

^Yep, but we don't look alike. I just looked it up, she comes from the same region as my mum.

Isabelle Adjani is Algerian, too, I think. I was wondering whether one of her parents was actually Algerian (by ancestry).

Adjani is half Algerian, half German (Bavarian). A lot of French people think that's an Italian surname, not Algerian. I remember a girl friend who would not believe me. She got all defensive and closed, "no, she's Italian". End of discussion. But that was another racist cunt (I seem to attract them - people usually think I'm Spanish, and when they learn the truth, some of them may be happy to have a token North African friend who acts European - dunno).

Interesting. As soon as I saw the last name, I thought she might be Algerian, but I am not good at all with the etymology of Algerian last names. I don't think a "J" is a common letter in Italian last names at all, though.

^Normally, there's no J in Italian dialects, not in all of them, though.

She looks very Algerian to me. Blue eyes are not common there, but they do happen. Blue eyes are more common in Portugal, though there are more green-eyed Portuguese people (like my father) than blue-eyed. Brown eyes being the norm, then green, then blue (based on my observations - never been to Portugal, but where I live now, there is a tremendous number of people of Portuguese heritage, who are usually 100% ethnic Portuguese).
