Definitely because it was launched at the right time, by a skillful hair styllist. Probably because it was a flattering cut on so many people, with so many hair types - easy to pull off, even with a less than classically beautiful face. Possibly also because the Rachel character was a typical girl-next-door kind of person, easy to identify with.

Not because of La Aniston's stunning beauty or brilliance, if that's what you're driving at.

What's interesting (to me, anyway) is that I looked at all of those thumbnails and none of the dresses were appealing enough to make me want to click on them and look at the larger image. She looks fine, but never takes any fashion chances. She's afraid to go out on a limb. Loosen up!

The Rachel cut became so popular because of timing, wearability and the popularity of the character associated with it. Not because of Jennifer Aniston's face; it doesn't work that way.
