PLUS I love that colour on her. I don't know who her stylist is these days but they're doing a great job.

Its a tiara, not a crown. Made by Boucheron in Art Deco style for super wealthy heiress Mrs Greville who bequeathed it to her friend the Queen Mother. It was one of the QMs favourites and on her death it passed to her daughter QE2 who has hardly if ever worn it but Camilla often does presumably because she likes it and it suits her. She borrows a lot of her MILs bling and why not. It will all be hers one day anyway.
She's got that weird post-menopausal "no waist" shape that women today seem to get. I love the dress & the colour suits her but she's all waist & gaunt shoulders, although she looks like she is shrugging they are so deep...?? I'm surprised that she hasn't been put on a royal diet to help her health since the hysterectomy.

I like the color but the whole thing (minus the tiara!) reminds me of a nightgown.

Huge crown! Looks like she broke her right clavicle at some point in her life too.

i'm a Diana fantard, but i think she looks really good here. The hair had to be made bigger so that the crown wouldn't look so big, but overall, she looks nice.

Crowns and coronets (small crowns) are circular and go around the head.
Tiaras are more like headbands and have a gap at the back.

In that case she will know I'm right.

My MIL had a tiara which we only found out about when we emptied her safe deposit box after she died. We think she probably inherited it from her mother but nobody really knows much about it. She bequeathed it to her daughter (my SIL) who has it locked away somewhere too. She can foresee no occasion when it will be appropriate to wear it in this day and age so she wants to sell it. Undortunately there just isn't a market for them any more. I guess the stones are still worth something so maybe she could break it up and make other things but that costs a bomb too so she's in a quandary.

Okay, okay! TIARA! Anyways, they look ridiculous along with crowns...they all should be melted down and made into proper jewelery. Camilla looks like a fool with that big thing on her head, she should be embarrassed wearing it.

eBay? Probably not a lot of tiara traffic on there and perhaps it would sell quickly with the right amount of publicity.....

    thanks for the explanation, A*O.

Ah! That explains it - as a keen horse woman she may have broken it more than once as its a classic move when falling.

Just hopping back in here to say I KNEW it was a tiara. And a gorgeous one, to boot. Hell, if I had access to that kinda stuff, I'd wear it as often as possible. And this one does suit her hairstyle. I really kinda want one now, even if my hairstyle doesn't allow it. Or my budget.
