I'd say the quality is actually BAD. I have a pink vernis wallet that faded its colour after several years, I looks orange-ish pink now. And my boston bag, I barely use it but like I said the leather is thin and doesn't hold its shape.
About the price though, there are other brand name purses that sell for way more, in comparison, I don't think LV is all that expensive. But it's some kinda status symbol cuz ppl THINK it's expensive.
e.g. my mom likes this brand Ibiza (Japanese brand)
http://www.rakuten.co.jp/ibiza/1774334/1774336/
this one is about 25 hundred dollars...
this little thing is about 16 hundred.
But their bags are all made of good durable leather (some are kinda unethical IMO like gator and ostrige) but it's a lesser known brand than LV though more pricy.

I never liked them. I once saw someone with an LV tennis racquet cover and did the big eye roll.
My Mom gave me this bag this past summer. Hey, a freebee, about 15 years old in perfect condition. I suddenly liked it. Can't find a damn thing in it, but it's constructed so well that it doesn't feel heavy. This one, the Noe was said to have been designed to hold 5 champagne bottles.
Moomies - the bag with the flower is adorable. (So off topic!!)

i have that one but its FAKE. it is a replica but looks 100% authentic to most everyone, but like some of yall have said... to people that " KNOW " you can tell its fake...
i like it. and wasnt toooo expensive.
but i agree that that LV fad has gotten out of hand. when i see t he little welfare 14 year pregnet girls walking around wal-mart with there OBVIOUSLY fake purses its like COME ON... seriously?
walmart sure knows how to kill a fad.
anyone else ever notice that?

^^ Hi Everyone...again, the reason why the bag isn't standing up to time (at least these particular lines) is because it's not leather.
I'm not spending over $100 for anything that isn't phukkin' leather.

Totally! I've noticed that, too. Remember Burberry before they became hip again? Same thing. The Barbour coat is a classic example of this, just like LV bags. Good observation.

I'm totally convinced of that. Or does anybody REALLY like truffles?

I actually like caviar and truffles. But I also like loads of dead cheap food (like olives and pizza-not together though) so it's not a status thing.
I hate LV bags though. Never saw the point-the color, the print, it all looks fug to me.

I'm thrilled to know that there are others out there who don't like these bags. OMG, I just worked up a tear. Everyone here freaking loves them. The kicker is you always see the white trashy folks in the LV store spending their monthly paycheck on these things. I have no idea why but those same people wear entire outfits with people's names or brand names splattered all over. WHY? I don't get it.
They're seriously fugly. Give me a Kate Spade.

I think Prada is the most ugly, overpriced anti-fashion line out there, and proves your point perfectly. That said, I'm a sucker for high-quality purses, but I don't buy anything that isn't leather either unless it's a beach bag or a grocery tote.

I agree with Chilly Willy; the price is the only thing that makes these bags even remotely attractive, and they are grossly overpriced.
