Actually, the dress is totally appropriate for the occasion which is a formal/religious service of remembrance. All the royals wear "mourning" black and the lace does lighten it up a bit.

I might be ine minority bit I hate the hair. It kind of looks dyed and her face looks really old. She is starting to look like Crown Princess Mary and she has to be like 10 or 15 years older.

    ETA: this was to Rollo.

She's quite consistent with this manner. because I see it almost every single time there's a picture of her standing. Hands always down and together. It's clearly ingrained within her during her "training" for life in royalty.
It appears to me the way she almost never veer from this position, she's controlling. She's one of those "stay inside the lines" kind of people.
Look at the way she dresses, the constant use of eyeliner. Always the same. Controlled.
Not that it's a bad thing. It's just who she is.

Not her best look. They should start a pool wear division and call it Dolce and Cabana.

She'd look much better in a better dress.

Exactly. She gets criticized for maintaining decorum which is her job and not being the last of the big spenders like Fergie or the Queen Mother.

She's a grown woman who does exactly what her uber controlling since birth Mummy tells her to do - dress, hair, makeup. She has no obvious personality at all.

^ Are royals meant to have a 'personality' like Princess Margaret or Princess Michael? The taxpayer quickly loses patience with their obvious love of their titles, position and cash if they start ostentatiously living the life.

    * Don't get me wrong - I know she is spending millions on 'refurbishment' of various properties. She is just not conventionally stylish but I bet her houses are. A lot of wealthy people chose to spend money behind closed doors rather than er, on their backs.

St Diana had a "personality" too but she's sacred so that's OK.

It is what the people get in return for it. Diana was out there and love or hate her, she was massive popular and was a good return for the money spend. (think of how many biscuit boxes with her head on it were sold )This one, my god did the Dialy mail try, to sell her but nobody is buying. So it is taxpayers money down the drain in times of economic crises. Of course people (especially the younger generations) will not put up with that.

I disagree. I don't think she is unpopular among young people. It seems to be a certain group of women who are always after her.

The big PR push was actually for Camilla and still is.
