There was an entertaining editorial in Allure a couple of months ago about the tackiness of overdressing for fashion shows. (I'm a little behind, and was reading this today.) The editor singled out Jennifer Lopez for her vulgarity (strapless taffeta and diamond earrings during the day) and ended with:

"But decolletage before sundown? Strapless taffeta at noon? Full-on sequins and sheer halter dresses in broad daylight? Wrong, wrong, and wrong. It's before 6. What are you, a showgirl?"
