The pop superstar beat teenage millionaire Mary-Kate Olsen - famous for her scruffy choice of clothes - to land at the top of Mr Blackwell's yearly unprestigious list.

The merciless fashion guru criticises the singer's style choices, calling her "an over-the-hill Lolita".

Other offenders on Mr Blackwell's list of fashion flops include Jessica Simpson, Eva Longoria, Mariah Carey, Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Shakira, Anna Nicole Smith and Renee Zellweger.

He calls Jessica a "cut-rate Rapunzel slingin' hash in a Vegas diner" and said Paris, who topped his list two years ago, still looks like "yesterday's cheesecake ... with a side of kitsch".

Mr Blackwell also had harsh words for Lindsay, adding she is "drowning in grown-up groaners," while Bridget Jones actress Renee looks like "a painted pumpkin on a pogo stick" and Anna Nicole Smith bares resembalnce to "Queen Kong in cheap lingerie".

He added: "2005 turned out to be a particularly bad year for couture chaos, wardrobe wrecks and stylistic sleaze. These woman may be fabulously talented in their respective fields, but when it comes to fashion, they resemble weary weeds in a lovely garden."

MK, absolutely! Let's face it, she dresses like a bag lady, and hobo chic is finally going out of style.

Overall, I think this is a pretty decent list. Brit Brit, Jessica and Mariah most certainly had it coming; I'd have put Mariah even higher on the list, though, and pushed off Renée or someone of the other merely boring dressers in favour of Sienna Miller. And Bai Ling, although she's rather too funny and too D-list for this thing, I suppose...

Mariah doesn;t dress too bad, she just doesn't wear the right size!!

Nah, Mariah's clothes usually fit her rather well; they just don't flatter her.

She's so predictable, too - you just know that on every given public appearance, Mariah will show as much cleavage and leg as she possibly can and then some, even if it's outside and freezing cold; even if the event in itself doesn't really warrant that kind of outfit.
If she just went out in public fully clothed every once in a while, I don't think we'd notice quite as much. I've seen pics of her wearing a knee-length pencil skirt and a pretty normal top somewhere, and she looked rather good, for once.
