I don't mind so much that she's a grown woman wearing barrettes, it's just that they're extremely ugly.
They look ridiculous on an adult woman... there are very few exceptions.
I like the jeweled ones. I can't really wear them since they don't hold much hair but something like these are pretty:

She always made me feel like she was an really childish woman. And let me tell you these barrettes doesn't help AT ALL.
