story behind this: Takashi Murakami and Louis Vuitton team up to make really ugly bags. Louis Vuitton hires some anime director to make this commercial. commercial is made. Louis Vuitton plays the commercial in their stores, then pulls it and denies being a part of its creation.

Craptastic - but the LV 'rainbow colour logo' stuff is also craptastic. Even the REAL stuff looks like cheap knock-offs. They should stick with their classic, restrained, elegant styles and colours which are timeless and beautiful.

That's what I thought too when I saw it, that it was a really shitty knock off from Chinatown

and then they get so mad by the knock-offs- quit making such crap then! The less shiteous the bag, the harder to rip off.

I agree A*O, I find it hard to tell the difference between the real and fake rainbow bags because they're just so...yuck.

aren't those bags a few years old?
i used to like them, but now i think they look kind of cheap.
but the commerical was cute!
i love LV though..their signature bags are still one of my favorites.

The Murakami did excellent in the U.S. In marketing I would have done the same thing Japan for 1 is obsessed with Anime, Hello Kitty, and the color Pink.
