‘The Color Purple’ Broadway Opening Night

A host of stars turned out to celebrate ‘The Color Purple’ Broadway Opening Night on Thursday (December 10) in New York City; supporting leading ladies Jennifer Hudson and Danielle Brooks.
Jennifer Hudson: I’m sure this gown needs no introduction, from the jewel tone and architectural design this is classic Zac Posen.
Laverne Cox: The ‘OITNB’ actress was serving up a sultry retro vibe wearing a fringed Tom Ford gown styled with an Edie Parker clutch. Both the pose and the styling is selling this look to me.
Uzo Aduba: Also decked out in Zac Posen, this pretty pink dress may suffer from the odd crease here and there, but the colour, style and styling have me interested.

Patina Miller: While I like the colour of this Wai Ming jumpsuit, that nude panel at the waist is distracting. I wish it has been flesh coloured, or non-existent.
Danielle Brooks: The ‘OITNB’ actress never met a fairytale gown she didn’t love. This Jovani gown strikes the right note both in style and Fall-like mood.

I don't get Uzo all dolled up, it looks just off. Girl has an edge, why not working with that instead of against it.
Jennifer Hudson did look better with a little more meat on her bones, her cleavage is strange.
Laverne and Danielle look very pretty to my eyes.

Love Laverne Cox's whole outfit. I like the pink color on Uzo, but not the bubble skirt.

J-Hud looks great. May as well wear purple. The only thing I don't like is the clashing lipstick.
I have some famous friends and I have mostly not famous friends.

I've never seen Patina Miller, good god she looks so much like Joan Crawford.
    Lalasnake and Laurent like this.

Jennifer lost a lot of weight and it deflated her chest- hence the saggy cleavage/pancake boobs.
