Those dark blue velvet Garter robes are so splendid.
I like Kate's ice blue colour and cut but not the shiny fabric. The hat is slightly less predictable than usual.
Sophie Wessex = understated elegance as always.

I wonder if Sophie and Kate are friendly; they seem to gravitate towards each other during these kind of events.

I also wonder who Kate was curtsying to .... it bugs the shit out of me that she has to curtsy to Beatrice and Eugenia when she will be queen. Princess Anne, absolutely, she's older and deserves the respect. The Queen, OBVIOUSLY. But those two do-nothing and worth-nothings don't deserve it .... and yeah, I know that the Queen decreed it but I'm sure it was Andrew whining to her about his little princesses that will amount to nothing that made her give in. That is one of the ONLY things that Charles becoming King that I'm looking forward to ... trimming the fat. You never see Edward and Sophie bitching about how their kids are being treated and let's face, there's NO way in hell those two mouth breathers will ever hit the throne unless there's some absurd accident like in the movie King Ralph (remember with John Goodman, bad movie) where the entire royal family gets electrocuted by the royal photographer while taking a picture.

And about that curtsy .... doesn't it look kind of, um, a little inappropriate in a short skirt? It looks like she's playing Twister, badly!

Doesn't Kate only need to curtsy to the York girls when William isn't around? I doubt she sees them much when he's not there, so it's probably not a huge issue. I could, obviously, be wrong though. When HMQ dies though it changes things and Kate won't have to anymore, right? A*O would know.
