I'm not Jewish but I think I'd be a bit peeved that they celebrated Hannukah 2 weeks early so they can slide off to Hawaii for their Christmas holiday. Oh and you don't light all the candles at once on the menorah either.

Hate Michelle's bacofoil dress and terrible bead necklace.

I like the color on her.

Mombama just totally overshadows that wimpy husband of hers.

really? i don't think i'd care. maybe if they were actually Jewish but they're not so who cares about a symbolic menorah lighting and ceremony.

It's like if it were the Advent wreath that and they lit all the candles at once, meh - no biggie in my book.

    Now about her dress. Ick.

Oh I dunno. I guess I'm a bit of a stickler for respecting other people's religious observances even if they aren't mine. I suspect a few Muslims/Christians/Jews would be offended if the Obamas decided to mark Ramadan, Passover, Easter or even Christmas a couple of weeks early just to suit their diaries? Mind you, Christmas doesn't seem to have any religious significance these days anyway and the shops are full of Chrissie Crap in September so whatever.

I don't hate it as much as I do just about everything else she wears. I love that shade of blue (on her, or in general) and I get where she was going with the sparkly festive material, but it, as usual, leaves a lot to be desired. Prez looks nice.

That shade of blue suits her so well. I quite like it.

The prez should have worn a matching blue metallic tie.

The blue is a great color, and the dress's waist is finally at her actual waist rather than right under her bust, so she's getting there. If it wasn't so metallic it'd be nice.

do you really think the president shouldn't take a vacation with his family then, just so he can placate the religious folk? any time he wants to be away for a bit, he'll have to move something around on his schedule and someone will be offended, he can't win. i think it's silly to waste time getting offended over this sort of thing.

No, he shouldn't have bothered at all if the dates didn't suit his itinerary. He doesn't give a crap about Hannukah, but he gives a very big crap for the Jewish lobby so he makes a stupid gesture like this and probably offends more people than if he'd done nothing. Is Joe Biden Jewish BTW?
