I used to be an Osmond fan when I was in elementary school. There was this magazine back then, completely about them, the whole clan: parents, all the kids and later the wives, too. What I remember about that magazine was how it always mentioned what they could and could not do, due to their religion (Mormon). They couldn't eat chocolate, couldn't have tea, coffee, coca cola, no alcohol, no smoking and lord knows what else. I remember the food stuff because a friend of mine who was also a fan, tried their strict rules and didn't last more than three weeks.
Anyway, they also had loads of rules regarding dating, clothing, make-up etc. As young as we were, we were already placing question marks when Marie was wearing ten layers of mascara when she had her first hit at 13. But we would never have been able to foresee she'd marry a couple of times, divorce a couple of times, have plastic surgery, wear "skimpy" clothes (well, for Mormons anyway) and just generally, whore herself out for the sake of showbiz. Weird.

Or it could be that she doesn't embrace (or fuilly embrace) all the tenants of the religion. It happens, you know.
