i enjoy the vanity fair best dressed list, especially the men.
this year's list isn't as good as other years but still waaaaay more interesting than any best dressed list from people or in style or any other publication that only seems to value middle of the road, safe fashions.
they made some bold, controversial choices. including la duquesa de alba (LOL).

Mchelle Obama has her off days, but I'm proud and delighted that after decades of helmet-haired and blandly suited first ladies without distinction, she just kicks ass. And she's what, about six feet tall?

Best first lady the US has had in a long long time.

If a Best Dressed List awards points for consistancy then Princess Mary wins hands down. Always elegant and well groomed as a princess should be. Some of those others look like a pig's breakfast by comparison, especially that Tatiana person who is clearly a man. And Hope Atherton? Come ON. Michele Obama is very hit and miss. She looks great when she gets it right but more often than not she gets it horribly wrong including that tit squishing blue thing ^^^^^^.

The blue thing might be squishy, but the color is fabulous on her. Her hair is dashing. Love the earrings and glitter. She rocks.

    Look ma, no brocade suit!

She may be the most vivacious first lady we've ever had. Cheers to that.

Yeah but this is the Best Dressed list, not Best Jewellery, Hair or Personality LOL

So you'll go with 'The Most Vivacious First Lady' award? I can live with that.

I like Michelle but she does make some really BAD fashion choices that emphasise the bits of her that need to be disguised. Check out some of the MO threads on GR - there are some howlers. Like I say, when she gets it right she looks fabulous so I'm a bit confused why she keeps making mistakes.

    Compare Michelle Obama with:

    Laura Bush

    Hillary Clinton

    Barbara Bush

    Nancy Reagan

    Rosalynn Carter

    Pat Nixon

    Lady Bird Johnson

Gone back to 1964 here......that's more than 50 years of dour, dried out, night-of-the-living-dead First Ladies.

Michellle Obama lives. Even in a bad dress she has stature, looks, style, color, flair, and actual red blood cells coursing through her veins. Fashion points for that. Times two.

I couldn't find an emoticon that adequately describes this... I'm not knocking the woman, I just wish she'd get some good fashion advice (and listen to it).

I think that'd be cute with some proper tailoring, the skirt is hilarious though the top is cute

^ I know. All I can say is that Wendi Murdoch, Carla Bruni, Crown Princess Mary of Denmark and Diane Kruger were good choices.
