What the hell! Some people said YES!

The question really is do you place more value on your god than your love for your child?

I'd have to have that in writing...

Religion is a dangerous thing when you let it cloud your common sense.

Just add mental illness to the mix and you have one of those tragic news stories where the parent swears "God told me".

That request would be my first clue that this 'god' isn't something to look up to.

Nope..I would plead the 10 commandments. One of them is "thou shall not kill", and if god was like "kill you kid", I would decline. I don't have much faith for a person who breaks their own damn rule.

When I was a kid, there were two stories in the bible that turned me off Christianity forever.

    1. How God drowned the Egyptian army in the Red Sea, because "he made the pharao stubborn" so that he wouldn't let the Jews go.

    2. How Abraham got ready to kill his son, just because God told him to and the God went "PSYCH".

Even as a six-year-old it was perfectly clear to me that I didn't want to have anything to do with that bullshit.

If God "instructed" me to do anything, be it kill my offspring or lead the French army, I'd be asking my doctor for some anti-psychotic meds quick smart.

And I say that as someone who believes in God, too. Just not so much in hearing voices.

I don't do anything anybody tells me to do He'd have to ask me nicely

Seriously, no, I would not kill my child for anybody.

I hated those stories too... also the one with Joseph and his bastard brothers and those lions..

If God told me to kill my child to prove my devotion to him, I'd first ask myself, "Why the fuck am I hearing voices telling me to kill my kid?"
