Who's worse, Satan or God?

So, if we were to look at the bible and remove the names “God” and “Satan” and replace them with “A” and “B” (respectively) then try to pipoint which is the evil one.. which do you suppose we’d choose?

I’m always amazed how people declare God to be this perfect and good being that’s always looking out for us, considering all the people he’s slaughtered. Possibly, more importantly, how many people have killed in his name due to their ‘beliefs’ in him.

Isn’t God great?

When I was reading Paradise Lost in college, I found myself rooting for Lucifer. He was a pretty glamourous character.

God certainly killed a lot of people in the Bible. I never knew the figure was that big. Not surprising though. When I was required to study it, I thought he was an unreasonable character with anger management problems. Not a loving guy at all.

I think that depends on the interpretation? Like in different sects, denominations, people believe God is here to serve punishment for the sins rather than to award good behaviour.

The Old Testament God is particularly evil, I always found. And as Picara said, with definite anger management issues-an addiction to smiting, if you will.

I alway found the concept of Satan to be a strange one.

If you were bad, you would go to hell (Satan's domain) and be tortured for all eternity..

Frankly, if Lucifer was cast out of heaven for tryhing to revolt against God and then took off to his own little corner of the universe, why the hell would he be PUNISHING people for being badasses? You'd think he'd welcome them in and be all "hey, pull up a chair!"

Ha Ha, very true.

I was sympathetic to Lucifer in Paradise Lost. The angels had always been God's favorites. Then he whimsically decides to take on this little project of humans, who the angels looked down on. They were pissed off that God was going to make them play second fiddle to such inferior creatures. It was very understandable. I'm sure Lucifer kinda felt like Maddox when Angelina started bringing home new children, pissed off.

God doesn't slaughter anyone. He is not responsible for the evil in the world.
