the prieuré de sion theory...
true or not, i don't think jesus was a virgin. just a hunch
Nope - he was married so he at least had 1 partner
Nope - he was gay anyway
Nope - He was a big ole' slut who used his * (cont.)
Yes - he was truly pious and a role model to us all
I was just wondering about that today...I don't think so b/c I think he was married to his partner in crime Mary Magdalene and they had a daughter named Sarah who was raised in France and brought forth the royal families of Europe but thats just my personal opinion that no one else knows about or believes
rest of the poll answer #3:
*powerful position like any other egomaniacal son-of-god-does and preyed on young women of the day

Alice, I think this might be a Poll too far? Not being squeamish (much) but it could offend quite a few members?? Just saying.

I don't think Jesus is presented as a virgin in the Bible.
Not sure what I think about this as a thread. Will consult.
What, we can't opine about some long dead guy's sexual status? We trash LIVING people in here worse.
I am from the American CIA and I have a radio in my head. I am going to kill you.
I can't vote. The alternatives are too limited and narrow-minded.
I think it's possible that he wasn't a virgin, and he might have been married. Yet, I don't believe in the Mary Magdalene theory (the Da Vinci Code knows nothing). He might have been gay too. But I don't really care. It wouldn't change anything.
^^ He is depicted as being accepting to righteous men.
Well surely the whole point of what several million Christians believe is that Jesus ISN'T dead? Why is it OK to cause genuine offence to people just because you don't agree with them?

^^ I'm confused with your statement. Who is causing who offense?
Okay, I think I'm following what you've said now. Hmmm.
They didn't mention that in church. That after he had risen, well, what exactly happens... Up until the end. I see now what you've said now.

I don't care if he was a virgin or not. It makes absolutely no difference to me. For that matter, I don't know or care if Mary remained a virgin for her lifetime. All of this is important to some people, but to me personally it's the same kind of question as did he eat eggs fried or scrambled....??? Don't care.
As far as what A*O is saying, there are many valued posters for whom Jesus is sacred, for lack of a better word, and this kind of thread invites all kinds of irreverent & contemptuous remarks that offend them. Is this thread worth offending them?
Sure, there are those here for whom NOTHING is sacred, and everything is fair game for sport & ridicule. It's funny.... they are the same people who demand that people should be open-minded & tolerant. But by ridiculing the core beliefs of others, they are demonstrating intolerance. Just a thought.

^^ I have many core values myself. Yet, I also realize that a lot of our current politicians aren't making the best of decisions who uphold faith and religion. I think that this thread is relevent, but it could become bad. You're right, Lobelia.
Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. As if you guys have never criticized something sacred to another person. How many people freaked out over the Muslim outburst after the Danish cartoon fiasco?
I'll tell you what I do NOT do, which is purposefully try to rattle the cages of people when it comes to religion. As far as the freaking out re: the cartoon, bad example. The freaking out was due to the death threats that resulted from the cartoons. It's one thing to be offended, and another to become homocidal about it. Death threats are quite appropriately freaked out over.
