Image: http://img2.timeinc.net/people/i/2009/stylewatch/blog/091130/lauren-conrad-300x400.jpg

She’s a successful TV star, fashion designer and fiction writer, but she hasn’t written a book on style — until now. Lauren Conrad (http://www.people.com/people/Lauren_Conrad) will unveil her top style tips in Lauren Conrad Style, to be published by Harper Collins in the fall of 2010.
The book will not only feature new and never-before-seen photos of the fashion icon, but the former MTV “Hills” star will show readers exactly how to interpret her classic and cool style into their lives.
“I am really excited to write a style guide,” said Conrad, who designs an affordable clothing line for Kohl’s (http://stylenews.peoplestylewatch.com/2009/09/15/video-lauren-conrad-debuts-her-kohls-fashion-line/), in a release. “I think fashion should be fun and reflective of who you are. When you wear clothes you feel good in, it shows in everything you do. I know this guide will offer simple, practical tips to help anyone look fabulous.”
This year, Lauren released her first book L.A. Candy, which was a #1 New York Times bestseller; her follow-up novel, Sweet Little Lies, goes on sale Feb. 2, 2010 (for more information on Sweet Little Lies and Lauren’s 10-city book tour, go to harperteen.com (http://www.harperteen.com/contests/lacandy/)).

Carrie Bradshaw’s teen diaries are on their way to a bookseller near you. On Tuesday, HarperCollins released the first image of the cover of Candace Bushnell’s The Carrie Diaries, a young adult book series set during the teen years of the Sex And The City protagonist.

And it appears Carrie got her start as a style maven during her days as a high school standout.

The book reveals Carrie’s first love, her relationship with her mother, and explores how the beloved fashionista discovered her love of writing.

“Carrie in high school did not follow the crowd – she led it,” the publisher said in statement in September. “It was there that she began observing and commenting on the social scene.”

The first volume of The Carrie Diaries is scheduled for release April 27, 2010, just a month before the theaterical release of Sex And The City 2.

New comic book of Princess Diana released

A controversial new comic book has been released, following the life of the late Diana, Princess of Wales.
Image: http://i35.tinypic.com/2413ztt.jpg
Female Force: Princess Diana features illustrations of the Queen, the Prince of Wales, and Princes William and Harry as it charts the late princess's public life and death.
The comic includes memorable events from the life of a woman that Darren Davis, the head of publisher Bluewater Comics, described as "the admirable British icon who won hearts around the world as a princess, public figure, philanthropist and parent".
Image: http://i36.tinypic.com/2lo0y7d.jpg
The book, which portrays the late princess in a favourable light, does not flinch from portraying the more painful private moments of her life, including references to Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, and her relationship with the Prince of Wales. The comic includes a reference to an intimate phone conversation between the Prince of Wales and his then mistress.Martin Bashir's interview with the princess is illustrated with a speech bubble coming from Diana's mouth, reading: "There were three of us in this marriage. So it was a bit crowded." The comic presents a glowing image of the late princess, calling her "a modern British icon" and an "admirable woman". But the Royal Family is described as "stoic" and the Prince of Wales's "post-divorce love life" is called a "half-hearted cloak and dagger attempt to conceal his relationship with his long-time mistress Camilla Parker-Bowles." The comic provides graphic interpretations of the announcement of Diana's engagement to Prince Charles and their lavish wedding. It also features illustrations of the last days of the princess's life, including her death in Paris. Bluewater Productions' Female Force monthly biography comic series, which focuses on women who are popular and influential in the political realm, has also included comics on Caroline Kennedy, the daughter of John F. Kennedy, Sarah Palin, the former governor of Alaska, and Oprah Winfrey, the US talkshow host.
