Some of the remains have been sent to the FBI lab in Quantico, Virginia, in an effort to identify them. Authorities have said the remains are believed to be Caylee's, but an identification is pending.

Sheriff's spokesman Carlos Padilla said last week that authorities believe the remains are Caylee's for three reasons: No other children have been reported missing in the area; the remains are consistent with those of a child of Caylee's age; and the remains were found near the home of the grandparents, where the 2-year-old and her mother were living just before Caylee disappeared.

FBI spokesman Richard Kolko said Monday that he did not know when tests would be complete, but an attorney for Anthony's parents said the FBI is likely to have results "within the next week."

This is the same report and they still aren't sure.
Into the sunrise. The sunset is sad to me….it only means the night is coming.

Just watched news conference with "Dr. G", the chief medical examiner in Orange County, who did the forensic exam. She positively ID'd the remains as Caylee's. So yes, they are sure. The DNA tests were completed by the FBI lab in Quantico.

    So sad.

They are sure. They just held a press conference within the last 30 minutes and announced it.

There was no trauma to the bones so she wasn't shot, stabbed, or beaten. They are awaiting toxicology reports to determine if she was overdosed or poisoned.

If nothing comes back as positive from the toxicology reports, she either drowned or was smothered. If she had been choked her hyoid bone would most likely be (but not always) broken

Lola, your statement really choked me up. It's sad that things like this happen to anyone, especially children. I kinda held out hope the whole time, even though i believed Caylee dead. I just kept hoping it was all gonna be okay in the end. That bitch Casey...I hope she never knows a moment without suffering for the rest of her miserable life.

This proves yet again why it's a bad idea to force women to have children they don't want. I bet Casey Anthony's mother wishes she hadn't bullied and threatened her to not have an abortion.

^ I knew that the baby was dead too. You could tell right away that Casey was sociopathic-like.

I hope she rots in a prison cell for the rest of her life, death is way too good for her.

My brain was sure that Casey killed Caylee, but I realize now that emotionally I didn't want to believe it. Now that the announcement has been made, this makes me really, really sad. What a horror to die at your mother's hand.

I don't tell my child there's no such thing as monsters, either. I do tell him that Mommy and Daddy would never let a monster anywhere near him. But wtf when the mother is the monster.

This story hasn't even been on the radar in Oz but I've been following it here and so I'm not surprised at the outcome. I think eveyone with half a brain pretty much knew she was dead from the get go (shades of the Madeleine McCann story). The mother is clearly a monster who had no business having a child in the first place. RIP.

    I agree DD.

In her case, I think spending the next 50-60 years behind bars would be a slow death and be a much more satisfying form of justice.

They're already in hell, though they don't know it yet. There is nothing this human being can ever do in this world to be forgiven. She has left her mark and the only way she will ever be remembered is with hatred.

Eternal hatred as your legacy. That is hell.

Fucking cunt of a mother... I hope she burns in fucking hell. And the damn grandmother gets to live out the rest of her life knowing she covered up for her worthless, piece of shit, murderous daughter.
