Completely different, he was attacking someone then. Now if they were tackling him because he was trying to smoke, then they're fucking idiots.

That's a separate issue. She acted foolishly. You wouldn't pick a fight with a big, drunk biker at a biker bar, and you don't pick a fight with a crazy guy on the train. It's common sense.

I'm glad she's all right, it could have been much worse. That doesn't change the fact that I think she's an idiot.

If she was a mouthy bitch who had it coming, does it make sense to to risk your personal safety by preventing an unstable guy from fulfilling his karmic duty?

A mouthy bitch who had it coming? That's a bit dramatic.

There's no debating the fact that it's common sense and street smart not to confront crazy people. Because they're, ya know, crazy.

You understood exactly what I said and are just trying to be contrary yet again. Over it.

    what's your point, mohandasksandy?
just state an opinion on the matter instead of asking stupid, roundabout questions in a passive-aggressive manner, with the sole intention of being a shit-stirrer.

What if you can't tell if someone is crazy and homeless just by looking at them?

either way, what kind of busybody goes up to a dude smoking on a nyc subway and gets in his face? if he's doing that it's obvious he at least has an attitude and really, is it worth it?

We don't know if she got in his face, she may just have asked him if he would mind not doing that and he overreacted.

i still think it was dumb. i've never lived in new york but i have visited and taken the subway enough times to know it's full of crazies and it's best not to approach strangers doing weird things in it.

I'm surprised she didn't give him a wedgie for good measure.

She should have let him smoke his blunt, he would have been nice and calm afterwords. Legalize it already!

I'm from Nutley, but I don't know her.But this is why people should mind their own buisness. If she was bothered by this, she should have reported him to security or moved.

I truly apologize, Sputnik. To me, it sounded like a number of people here were making statements that seemed totally inured to what the woman went through. It didn't seem like irony to me.

I hate people smoking anywhere crowded and I'm a confrontational bitch on a good day, but I know to pick my battles. If I saw a crazy dude smoking I'd move to another carriage.
