Anyway I'll keep looking for a good site I found earlier that I stupidly didn't bookmark.
I was reading about Lori earlier too. The conditions described here don't sound too good. American Woman Faces Bleak Life in Peru's Frigid Mountain Prison (The Associated Press - Friday, 12 January 1996)
She also got married and had a baby by c-section in a Lima hospital while still in prison. She was retried and convicted of a lesser crime. Recently she was freed after serving 3/4 of her sentence.

Report: Joran Van der Sloot Confesses to Peru Murder

    By Tim Nudd
    Tuesday June 08, 2010 07:55 AM EDT

After initially denying involvement, Dutch national Joran van der Sloot has admitted to Peruvian police that he killed Stephany Flores in a Lima hotel room, according to reports.

The 22-year-old, previously a suspect in U.S. teen Natalee Holloway's disappearance, confessed to the murder of the Peruvian woman late Monday, CNN reports. He could be charged as early as Tuesday and faces up to 35 years in prison.

The country does not have the death penalty or life sentences. According to CNN, Van der Sloot might have been influenced by Peru's practice of handing down lighter sentences in the case of confession.

Flores, 21, the daughter of race car driver and businessman Ricardo Flores, was found dead last Wednesday morning in a hotel room registered under Van der Sloot's name. Van der Sloot was arrested Thursday in Chile.

Officials have said there is "incriminating evidence" against him in the case. Footage from security cameras at the hotel shows Van der Sloot and his alleged victim entering the hotel room together, with the Dutchman later leaving alone.

Van der Sloot was arrested and charged with murder in the May 2005 disappearance of Holloway. Lacking evidence, police released him. He was re-arrested in November 2007 and charged with manslaughter but again set free.

^ You don't need them if you have prisons like that. I don't think he'll last too long. He'll probably be targeted.

^I agree. Don't think I'll be able to work up much sympathy.

Just heard he is on a suicide watch. WTF - I'd be willing to watch him off himself but have no interest in anyone else preventing the act.

I don't want him to kill himself or to be killed too soon by another inmate. Ideally, he'll be at the end of his sentence seeing the light at the end of the tunnel when he gets shanked.

As much as I'd love to see that sociopath off himself, it would be nice if the Holloway family could find out what happened to their daughter too, before Vandersloot kills himself, or gets killed in prison.

I know they ran the Holloway story into the ground, but the famil still deserves some kind of closure. Wonder if there will be any kind of deal cut for that info?

And I'm still suspicious that he's going to try and get a deal where he'll serve his time in a Dutch prison instead of a Peruvian one.
Not likely. It's either Peru, Aruba or the US for him.

I kind of hope he confesses to the murder of Natalee, so he can be tried in the US (if possible) and spend the rest of his life in supermax.

Either way, he's going to be someone's girlfriend for a looooong time.
