I think they found him....let me see if I can dig up an article.

Joran van der Sloot has been arrested and is in police custody in Santiago, Chile, an Interpol spokesperson in Santiago told CNN.

Joran van der Sloot is a suspect in a young woman's slaying this week in Peru and was previously considered a suspect in the 2005 disappearance of Alabama teenager Natalee Holloway in Aruba.

[Updated at 12:33 p.m.] Chilean investigators have told CNN Chile that Joran van der Sloot was spotted in Arica, Chile, near the Peruvian border and they believe he may still be there.

[Posted at 11:59 a.m.] Peruvian authorities investigating a young woman's slaying this week are working with officials from Interpol, Chile, Argentina and Colombia in the search for Joran van der Sloot, a Dutch man previously considered a suspect in the 2005 disappearance of Alabama teenager Natalee Holloway, the Peruvian justice minister said Thursday.

There is "incriminating evidence" linking van der Sloot to the killing of 21-year-old Stephany Flores Ramirez, who was found with multiple stab wounds in a Lima hotel room Wednesday, Cesar Guardia Vasquez, of Chile Interpol's criminal investigations unit, said at a news conference.

The hotel room where Flores was found was registered in van der Sloot's name, he said.

A hotel guest and an employee witnessed the pair entering the hotel room together at 5 a.m. on Sunday, Guardia said.
Police have video of the previous night, May 29, of van der Sloot and Flores together at the Atlantic City Casino in Lima, he said.

According to immigration officials, van der Sloot fled to Chile over land on Monday, Guardia said.

"We have all the evidence to show that the killer is this man," the victim's father, businessman and race-car driver Ricardo Flores told CNN en Español

They need to put his ass on a suicide watch so he doesn't. Don't want him to miss a minute of this.

^ You are right about suicide watch.

Good that they caught him before he offed himself or more people in the process. I wonder what evidence they had.

Seriously, this guy is fucked in the head.

That's good he's been caught! I bet he killed other girls over the years too. I hope he 'enjoys' his time in the horrific Peruvian prisons!

Joran van der Sloot (PICTURES): Five Things You Need To Know

NEW YORK (CBS) Who is Joran van der Sloot? PICTURES: Joran van der Sloot
    PICTURES: Stephany Flores
The Dutchman who has long been under suspicion in the 2005 disappearance of American Natalee Holloway, is now being hotly pursued by authorities in South America, after police in Peru declared him the prime suspect in the murder of 21-year-old Stephany Flores.
Flores' body was found Sunday in a Lima hotel room registered in van der Sloot's name, authorities said. Van der Sloot has since fled to Chile, according to officials there

Here are five things you should know about Joran van der Sloot and the trouble that's trailing him:

    1. van der Sloot's father, Paulus, was a lawyer and judge on the Dutch Caribbean island of Aruba, where Natalee Holloway disappeared. Paulus van der Sloot died of a heart attack at 57 in February, 2010, while playing tennis.

    2. van der sloot, who's 22, was arrested twice but later released for lack of evidence in the Holloway disappearance, although he is still considered the prime suspect. She was last seen leaving a bar with van der Sloot on the final night of a high school trip.

    3. van der Sloot confessed on several occasions to disposing of Holloway's body in Aruba. But prosecutors in Aruba have said his statements were "not credible," and in one case "held together by lies and fantasy."

    4. van der Sloot was in Peru for a poker tournament, according to Peruvian police.

    5. The father of Stephany Flores, Ricardo Flores, has been a racecar driver and political candidate in Peru.

Also -- the alleged murder of Stephany Flores in Lima occurred May 30, 2010, exactly five years to the day since Natalee Holloway disappeared.

Joran van der Sloot's lawyer, Joe Tacopina, said his client "has been falsely accused of murder once before. The fact is he wears a bull's-eye on his back now and he is a quote-unquote 'usual suspect' when it comes to allegations of foul play."

Oh hell yes. Let's just discount the fact that the dead girl's body was found in a hotel room that he rented and they were seen entering the room together. Completely circumstantial.

Of course. Could happen to anyone. I'm sure it's just a big misunderstanding. No one actually SAW him do it. They should just let him go now.

Assuming he doesn't off himself before trial, this is going to get really stupid.

It's good that the slain girl is the daughter of a Peruvian politico w/ $ because something tells me that had it been some lesser-connected chick, he might have just walked away from this shit. Again.

The timing is ironic as hell. Makes you wonder if he had an anniversary kill every year.
