Android, right, Mo? Follow this link to Google Apps for hiding files. I believe the calculator app that he used (he doesn't seem like an IT genius) is fifth on this page. It also has a bunch of other hidden files apps.

Thx, Nevan. I think this might have been the app he was using, and it looks pretty good (password-protected, encryption) except for one thing: it uses numbers only for a password. That greatly reduces the number of combinations that someone has to try to crack the password:

I think there are some that will also hide other apps, not just pics. So if you were using something like Whatsapp to secretly text (i.e. won't show on your phone bill), you can hide the app in the vault. Snooping spouses won't find your cheating tools.

Doesn't that just feel like SO much extra work just to have an affair? Secret apps to hide everything, secret accounts, etc. Just get a divorce already and move on with your side piece.

I think technology has made it quite simple actually. You have 24 hour access to your side piece. Divorce is costly, sometimes ugly and takes guts to admit you want. Or you don't want it. You want your cake and eat it too.

I always wonder what drives women (and men) to act like this, but I think it is fantasy, delusion, and wanting to feel important. It reminds me of a character on The Americans who gets involved with someone who is clearly not who he says he is but she just keeps turning off that inner voice and then you can tell she just kind of gets off on it when she becomes shady herself.

There was an HBO movie long ago called Hysterical Blindness starring Uma Thurman. She met a guy at a bar, they had sex at his house, she went home thinking they were having a dinner date, and he ghosts her. The day after the sexual encounter and before she finds out he ghosts her, she's looking through a JCPenney catalog for engagement rings. It was one of the most depressing movies I've ever watched. This mistress reminds me of that.

Surely the most heinous person here is the husband & father that had the affair & then murdered his wife & kids????

I agree. And the most disturbing aspect to the guy is his blandness. He doesn't seem to have any sharp edges at all, or a strong personality, and seems like he was basically doing whatever his wife told him. From that profile, he seems like the last person who would do something like this. And if I remember correctly, he strangled his wife and smothered his kids. That is a close-up, prolonged way of murdering someone.

He definitely does not seem to have shared these plans with his mistress - he came up with this all by himself. His Wiki entry says what he did was "family annihilation" and that it is rare for someone to do that and not kill themselves, too. Another famous person with this profile is John List, who did this, but did not have a mistress, and instead went on the run and changed his identity and eluded authorities for decades before he was caught.

I think we are seeing Watts' mistress through the lens of what we as third parties already know about Watts. That wasn't what Kessinger knew.

I don’t know, something about this woman seems shady as all fuck to me. I think there may have been some involvement on her part. I just get the feeling that this one isn’t completely innocent. Apparently everything she turned over to the police had been wiped clean. Completely scrubbed. Plus, his quick guilty plea. I don’t know, seems to me like he was saving her ass.

At at least with Amber Frey, dingy as she is, I think she really was shocked and wanted to help the police. I don’t get the feeling from this one.

I know people that come across like this and he would be the first person that I would expect to be a serial killer... Outward media means naught to me especially when your spouse is a pyramid selling professional. YMMV
