I'm sure the facts are irrefutable and he knows that if they were going to take the time and money to convict him, they were going to make sure they gave him the maximum penalty.

The scary part is that he seemed to put on a really good act of loving his wife and kids. As a husband and father, I look at a case like this and completely fail to get the disconnect of someone who has an attractive, devoted, high-earning wife and two beautiful kids - and one on the way - and despite all their posturing on Facebook, etc., it meant not only nothing to him, but apparently was a burden. To the point, where he took them out in the most cruel and cold-hearted manner. It is an appalling reminder (along with other cases that have happened in the last couple of weeks alone), that we have people walking among us who are literally time bombs, and we don't know what sets them off or when it's going to happen.
Late to the thread, but this is another reason I am in favor of the death penalty. It doesn't even have to get to the death part, but there are countless murderers that have given up evidence and details of their crimes and admitted their crimes just to avoid the death penalty.

Her web searches are weird and I dont buy that she didnt know he was married. Someone in that town must have told her at some point. It just seems like she came forward mighty quick to try to change the narrative and make herself look like a victim

REVEALED: Chris Watts had 10-month affair with gay male escort who says the murderer paid for his lip injections and gave him money during their secret trysts in remote Wyoming cabin

The male escort who claims that he was in a secret gay relationship with Chris Watts shared details of their alleged affair in interviews with investigators that have been obtained by DailyMail.com.

Trent Bolte, 28, said that he and the married father-of-two had a ten-month relationship that ended this past spring.

The two would spent time together at a remote Wyoming cabin said Bolte, which his mother Colleen confirmed in her own interview with a Colorado Bureau of Investigation agent.

She also told the agent that Watts had given her son money while they were together, and even paid for Bolte to get lip injections.

Bolte's story has been questioned by many after he first claimed that he and Watts were together in a Facebook post soon after the murders.

It was that post and his subsequent interview on a national news program that led to police reaching out to Bolte, who said he first met Watts in June of last year.

At the time, Bolte proved to be elusive for police and investigators to lock down, with the young man saying he had just been kicked out of his apartment by his boyfriend after he learned that Bolte had been working as a male escort.

Bolte did however provide contact information for his mother Colleen, who was able to confirm some details of the alleged relationship and share new ones with investigators.

She said that her son 'admitted he was seeing Watts long before the “horrible crime” occurred,' and that Watts 'gave him money.'

Bolte told her told his mother that Watts 'paid him $250.00, $80.00, and $60.00 on separate occasions,' with Colleen adding that one of the payments was for her son's 'lip injections.'

She also said that when she called Bolte back in March of this year while he watching their cabin in Wyoming, he told her that he was with a friend Chris from Colorado for the weekend.

Bolte made waves back in August with the Facebook post that initially caught the eye of investigators.

We had relations off and on from last June up until March or April. I found out he was married with kids in February. I didn’t know that when we first met, said Bolte in that post.

He also noted: 'I can only speak for myself but before this happened, I would’ve 100% told you that Chris isn’t a murderer nor a sociopath. He told me he was the victim of emotional and mental abuse and was stuck in loveless marriage but was so scared to leave because of Bella and Celeste.'

There was not much follow-up to Bolte's claim however after investigators began to focus in on his mistress at the time of the murders, Nichol Kessinger.

Documents from the investigation into the murder reveal that Shanan was planning a romantic getaway in the days before she was murdered by her husband after learning of his indiscretions.

A search of her phone that was conducted after her body was recovered found that Shanann had been on GroupOn searching for a way to afford a cheap weekend escape for the couple.

On the night before her death she even lined up the child care for the weekend, getting the babysitter who was watching her daughters Bella and Celeste on Saturday to return the following Friday ahead of the woman who would be spending the weekend with the girls.

At the same time, Watts was with Kessinger were discussing his next steps and the apartment he planned to get when he separated from his wife.

He had told Shanann he was at a baseball game, but her suspicions had grown so strong that she told friends of her plan to confront her husband when she returned from her work trip in Arizona.

In a text sent to her friend Ady, Shannon wrote out the entire speech she planned to deliver on Monday, after she had returned home and gotten some rest.

'Can you please tell me something, because just like you, I'm in my head? I try to fix things and make them better and this is making me crazy. I know that you need time. I want to give you what you're asking for and respect your space, I need some time. This place that I'm in, in my head, is not a good place,' read the text.

'lt is not healthy for me, or Niko. I need you to help me help you. I need you to give just a little bit of what I did, or didn't do, so t,m not going crazy in my head to figure it out. I know I can't fix this by myself; that, we are going to have to work together.'

She then got on a plane and was not heard from again after her friend dropped her off at home.

Watts would later send a text to her phone just before 8am asking where she was, shortly after he buried her body in a shallow grave.

I'll assume that whatever was injected came out of an oil drum too.

I'm so confused. The escort's mother corroborated Watts' assignation with her son Bolte, but Watts also was having an affair with Kessinger?

^yes. I can't imagine that mentality. Kill your wife and kids? I know it happens and has for centuries. and when it does, I always think it heinous.

Killer Colorado dad moved to out-of-state prison for ‘safety’ reasons

    https://nypost.com/2018/12/05/killer...afety-reasons/

DENVER — A Colorado man who was sentenced to life in prison for killing his pregnant wife and two young daughters has been transferred to an out-of-state prison.

Department of Corrections spokesman Mark Fairbairn tells the Denver Post that 33-year-old Christopher Watts was moved to an undisclosed prison for “safety and security” reasons.
Prosecutors say Watts strangled his wife, Shanann, and smothered his daughters, 4-year-old Bella and 3-year-old Celeste, inside the family’s suburban Denver home in August. He then buried his wife in a shallow grave on an oil and gas work site and dumped the girls’ bodies in oil tanks nearby.

Reading the text she sent to her friend of the speech she planned to give breaks my heart. Wanting to know what she did or didn't do... God. It's so horrible to think she spent her last few days trying to figure out where she went wrong in her marriage.

She married an actual fucking sociopath. That's all she did. From the other texts she sent it sounds like his behavior really did come out of nowhere to her and that's why she was so suspicious. It's like reading about a horror movie. She really had no inkling he was capable of something like this. I'm sure the comparison has been made, but it reminds me of Lacey Peterson. If I think too much about it, I get super creeped out. Like, how well can you ever really know a person?

If Mr. Manning ever turns out to be a psycho and kills me one day, it'll be so disheartening.

Shanann Watts' Parents Break Their Silence on Triple Murder of Daughter and 'Miracle' Grandkids

Shanann Watts wanted the world for her little girls, Bella and Celeste, and her unborn son, Niko. A driven and determined woman, the 34-year-old Watts had overcome the risks of her lupus diagnosis to have children, who were her “miracles.”

This is how Watts’ parents, Frank and Sandra Rzucek, are remembering their daughter and grandchildren in their first-ever interview, nearly four months after Watts, then 15 weeks pregnant, and her daughters were murdered at their Colorado home by Chris Watts, Shanann’s husband.

“She was fun, full of life. She did so many things,” Sandra said of Shanann in an interview with ABC News set to air on Friday night’s 20/20.

“She had her hand in everything,” Sandra said. “She was amazing.”

Sandra said her daughter “never gave up” and kept a vision board — “to make sure her children had everything they ever needed,” Shanann’s father explained.

“She was a good soul,” Frank told ABC.

Both he and Sandra described Shanann as confident, resolute. Before giving birth, she had dreamed of being a mother, Sandra said, and for years she battled lupus, an autoimmune disease.

When Shanann became pregnant with Bella, her oldest daughter, some of her friends grew concerned about the health risks, Sandra said.

She recalled telling Shanann, however, “God wouldn’t let it happen if it wasn’t meant to be.”

“She would do anything for her children,” Frank said. “She just loved her children, and she wanted them to have everything growing up.”

Shanann was a habitual social media user, where she posted frequent updates about her young family and her work — seeming, to everyone else, to be perfectly content. Asked if she was happy, her parents told ABC she “absolutely” was.

Behind closed doors however, Chris, her husband of nearly six years, had begun a secret relationship with a coworker the summer before he murdered his family. It was this selfish infatuation with his mistress — and the “fresh start” he imagined — that motivated the killings, prosecutors have said.

Less than a week before Chris, 33, strangled her in the pre-dawn darkness, Shanann shared growing concerns about him with a friend.

“He has changed. I don’t know who he is,” Shanann texted early on Aug. 7, according to hundreds of pages of investigative documents released by authorities, which detail mounting strife in the family.

“[Chris] hasn’t touched me all week, kissed me, talked to me except for when I’m trying to figure out what is wrong,” Shanann explained in a text, adding, “We’ve never had a problem in our relationship like this. No joke. NEVER. THIS IS TOTAL LEFT FIELD.”

“I just want to cry,” she wrote.

Her friend tried to soothe her, to no avail. Shanann’s worries about her marriage had eaten up her confidence in Chris and their bond together.

“What if he really doesn’t love me anymore?!” she texted at one point, noting later on Aug. 7 that “he said we are not compatible anymore! He refused to hug me after he said he will try to ‘work’ it out! Said he thought another baby would fix his feelings. Said, he refused couples counseling.”

Early on Aug. 13, after Shanann returned from a weekend work trip, Chris murdered her and their daughters and then hid their bodies at property owned by his then-employer.

In November, he surprisingly pleaded guilty to all of his charges in exchange for being spared the death penalty.

He will spend the rest of his life in prison.

At Chris’ sentencing, Shanann’s family rued her loss and excoriated Chris for his crimes.

“Shanann put a crown on your head, but unfortunately the day that you took their life, God removed that crown,” Sandra told Chris, who sat largely stoic during the hearing, his leg sometimes shaking beneath the table.

“We loved you like a son. We trusted you, your faithful wife trusted you, your children adored you and they also trusted you,” Sandra said. “… I have no idea who gave you the right to take their lives, but I know God and his mighty angels were there in that moment to bring them home to paradise.”

Speaking with ABC News, Shanann’s parents said their daughter and grandchildren were gifts from God.

“They had a lot of love, they were amazing. I couldn’t ask God for more,” Sandra said. “He really blessed us with them, the children and Shanann. She loved everybody. Her love for children and friends was amazing.”

20/20‘s episode on the Watts family murders airs Friday (10 p.m. ET) on ABC.

It still kills me to see how much she loved this guy, was mystified about what was going wrong, and wanted to work things out with him.
