The law to work. I ask because I've posts on other forums that the Martin family should have been satisfied/accepted the investigation. The gist being that it is their sons fault he is dead.

I'm confused, GZ is not a relative of Trayvon, so where did the family question come from?

Here is an excerpt from a larger article (Florida 'stand your ground' law yields some shocking outcomes depending on how law is applied | Tampa Bay Times):

An 18-year-old felon, convicted of cocaine and weapons charges, shot and wounded a neighbor in the stomach, then fled the scene and was involved in another nonfatal shootout two days later, according to police. He was granted immunity in the first shooting.

Two men fell into the water while fighting on a dock. When one started climbing out of the water, the other shot him in the back of the head, killing him. He was acquitted after arguing "stand your ground."

A Seventh-day Adventist was acting erratically, doing cartwheels through an apartment complex parking lot, pounding on cars and apartment windows and setting off alarms. A tenant who felt threatened by the man's behavior shot and killed him. He was not charged.

A Citrus County man in a longstanding dispute with a neighbor shot and killed the man one night in 2009. He was not charged even though a witness and the location of two bullet wounds showed the victim was turning to leave when he was shot.

Even chasing and killing someone over a drug buy can be considered standing your ground.

Anthony Gonzalez Jr. was part of a 2010 drug deal that went sour when someone threatened Gonzalez with a gun. Gonzalez chased the man down and killed him during a high-speed gunbattle through Miami streets.

Was the can of Arizona ice tea still in Tray's pocket when he was found dead?
This is what gets me. My son buys those things all the time. They are big suckers and a bit heavy. A perfect weapon but Tray didn't use it. All he used is his fists and .. some threatening words perhaps?
Zimmerman had a gun that he knew he could use if necessary!

Why didn't Zimmerman follow him to where he was going to see exactly what he was up to so that he doesn't jump to conclusions?
My questions along with the fact that Zimmerman hid in the begining tells me he is withholding crucial information that clearly makes him guilty.
If the fact that he used the gun because he truly feared for his life is truth, he could have said so from the very beginning straight into the face of the media. He would have nothing to hide. But he hid.

The stand your ground business is a cop out for him.

Maybe Zimmerman should have gone straight home.

Chris Hayes did a section on the trial last night and they were talking about Zimmerman's statements and how absolutely 3rd rate movie script his story is...from the first confrontation to Trayvon's last words, Zimmerman's story is ridiculous and he contradicts himself repeatedly. Anyone else see all those bushes that Trayvon was hiding in before jumping out and circling Zimmerman's car before attacking? And his final words "ya, you got me."

Yes. Most of the words he puts in Trayvon's mouth are ridiculous - that's another reason I don't believe him. Like, I'm sorry, no one would actually say that shit. I hope the jury sees through it.

There is no forensic evidence that Trayvon even touched Zimmerman. There were no traces of Zimmerman's DNA on Trayvon's hands nor was their any bruising or scratching on his hands that would have supported Zimmerman's account of getting hit in the face and head by Trayvon.

There are no bushes in that apartment complex. So where was Trayvon's hiding spot that Zimmerman says he jumped out from?

Zimmerman said that Trayvon circled his car. But then supposedly Zimmerman was searching for him because Trayvon scampered away.

There are only three street names in that apartment complex, where Zimmerman had lived and been a neighborhood watch official. Zimmerman says he got out of the car to find the street name. Bullshit.

There are bushes in that complex. In the crime scene photos they're all over the place.

Not that it means he was hiding behind them, but all these armchair legal and evidence experts on the web seem to get so much wrong.

    Ooooo, I get it...

Doesn't this picture alone counter Zimmerman's tale of nonsense? If Trayvon was sitting on him and punching him and pounding his head into the cement, so much so that Zimmerman was concerned about Trayvon reaching into his pants and getting his gun that Zimmerman just had no choice but to shoot, how is Trayvon's body many feet away from said cement?
