That is the precedent this case set. In Florida, you're not allowed to defend yourself.

How is Zimmerman going to make a living now? I expect a book and/or a Lifetime movie of this story.

I hope these idiots that served on the jury don't have any loved ones that may be walking through a neighborhood one night, with someone like George Zimmerman serving as a night watch. I've heard of people being convicted of shooting criminals that are in their homes, but this guy walks for killing an unarmed teen walking through a neighborhood. Balls!! Such bullshit. How can these women sleep at night? Seriously.

A few weeks ago, some of the teenagers in my neighborhood were running around, late, jumping fences and being stupid. I would say they were about 15 or 16. They jumped into my side yard and banged into my garbage cans. What if they did this to someone who was a little trigger happy??

Sorry if I'm not making sense, I'm just so fucking pissed. We should all be worried when something like this happens.

Me too, I have heard of cases where someone was in a much better position to claim self defense upon shooting someone, and they were convicted.

I am pissed at the verdict, but it doesn't surprise me. Fat ass didn't take the stand, and if he had I think there might be a different verdict.
    Fucking Florida.

Fucking Florida (except for Shellee, natch.) I wonder if any of those jurors will have the guts for an interview. Maybe Piers Morgan will get a chance to lay into them.

Here's something else to consider, Zimmerman can have his gun back and start carrying it again.

Yes the verdict was bullshit, the jurors are all fucking idiots, but Florida isn't the only fucking state to aquit scumbags. Oj, Michael Jackson, Robert Blake in California...

Jesus Christ. I can't imagine what Trayvon's family must be feeling right now. There's something fundamentally wrong if a nutter can legally own a gun and kill a kid and be told that's ok.

BART patrol car vandalized in Oakland

    KTVU.com and wires
    OAKLAND, Calif. —
A group of about 100 protesters took to the streets of Oakland late Saturday night, breaking windows, starting fires and even vandalizing a police vehicle in an angry reaction to the acquittal of George Zimmerman for the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.
The protest began at Frank Ogawa Plaza at 10 p.m. and was reportedly organized by Occupy Oakland over Twitter.
In their tweets, Occupy Oakland asked that participants wear hooded sweatshirts in tribute to Martin, who was wearing one when he was killed. Other protesters brought a banner that declared “We Area All Trayvon Martin.”
By 11 p.m., the group had grown from a few dozen to almost 100 angry people, and around then the group began marching through the city’s downtown area.
While making their way through the city, participants began vandalizing businesses, spraying anti-police graffiti and breaking windows at the Oakland Tribune building.
At one point, protesters vandalized a BART police patrol car, smashing its windshield and spray- painting anti-police slogans such as "FTP" on its exterior.
Shortly before midnight, the march headed to the Alameda County Superior Courthouse near Lake Merritt, and along the way protesters flipped over a dumpster, smashed more windows and stopped to burn flags in front of a McDonald’s.
At the courthouse, marchers spray-painted more anti-police graffiti on the walls of the building.
By then, the protest was dwindling due to the increasing numbers of police in riot gear surrounding the group.
By 12:30 a.m., Officer Cynthia Espinoza said no arrests had been made.
The late Saturday protest followed a raucous but largely peaceful one in San Francisco. Police say officers escorted demonstrators as they marched on the city's Mission District. The group was dispersed by 10 p.m.
The verdict in a Florida courtroom also sparked protests in Los Angeles, where demonstrators gathered in Leimert Park, the city's historically black neighborhood.
This story will be updated when we learn more information.

Zimmerman's lead attorney, Mark O'Mara, decided to open his gob and came out with this, "I think he (Zimmerman) wishes he could wave a magic wand and get his life back. He has to be very cautious and protective of his safety because there's still a fringe element out there who have said they want revenge."

"His" life back!? Is he fucking shitting me?

God forgive me, but my head is hurting over the fact that Zimmerman got away with murder. And that if anything bad happens to him I won't be too broken up over it. I'm heartsick over the verdict. It is almost like it was planned to set this POS free. I know it was not intellectually, but emotionally I feel that way.

No,Bitter. He did not get away with a damn thing. He has gone straight into hiding and will never draw an easy breath the rest of his long life. He will forever feel like a hunted man with a bulls eye on his back. He is a hunted and haunted man and I would not want to be him. He is also Catholic, so he has Hell looming to boot.
