Gay Men Arrested for ‘Buggery’ on Caribbean Cruise

The laws in that part of the world can be quite arcane but technically they were committing buggery and so that was the charge. No doubt they will make this a gay thing but ANYONE behaving like that in full public view should be ashamed of themselves. Tres tacky. Having said that those gay cruises can get pretty wild sometimes so I can totally believe they got "carried away".

Yeah fucking in public is not cute at all.

Regardless of that, I would never go on a cruise that stopped in any homophobic country, especially in the Caribbean. Some of the sodomy laws down there are just as archaic and severe as places in the Middle East. Not to mention the homophobia and the rampant hate crimes committed in such places.

Tourists, and especially cruise people, often fail to understand that different rules/laws apply in different countries and it's up to visitors to observe and respect those rules even if they disagree with them. No wonder the locals get so resentful about their rude visitors who think they can behave like assholes (HA!) and not face the consequences just because they are on vacation so normal standards of behaviour don't apply.

If it had been a man and a woman having anal sex on a balcony would they still get charged with buggery, I wonder?

Either way, buggery/sodomy laws are beyond ridiculous.

I read that they dropped the buggery charges and only kept the indecent exposure, which seems fair to me, as they actually were "indecently exposed".

Saw their picture in the article too, and was amazed they are only 2 years apart in age. One guy look so young for his age, the other so old. And the old looking one is the younger of the two!
