It will be interesting to see how much he spills once he can talk, since he seems to have been the less brutal of the two--originally anyway.

Olivia, that was a great article from the Globe. Maybe authorities will re-open Brandon Mess's murder case now that they realize that he had a murderer for a pal.

Olivia, my oldest nephew is the same way. I have to preface every facebook comment or email with, "I am going to make a joke!"

Hadn't really made that connection Kathie. Interesting.

It seems like the younger one must have been hurt if he stayed even after being found out. They said they used thermal imagine and some kind of fake bullets to see if he was still alive before approaching him. It sounds like they fired a whole lot of rounds though.

Supposedly when the officers first approached the boat there was an exchange of gunfire with the suspect. I don't know if that is accurate, though. Hard to believe he had the strength to exchange fire at that point.

I was just thinking about what a hellish week it must have been for the trauma teams at the Boston hospitals this week. And then to have to work on the 2 suspects. I hope they are all getting some counseling and support.

Medical trauma teams in big hospitals deal with injuries like this almost every day (car accidents, shootings, etc) although obviously not as many all at once. They are pretty resilient by now. But it must be very difficult giving the people responsible for these atrocities the same impartial standard of medical care knowing the suffering their victims have and will endure for the rest of their lives. I know I'd probably "forget" to give the fucker his pain meds.

Welllll I know it's wildly different but my friend is a doctor and when she was training she was in the Accident and Emergency bit of a major hospital in Glasgow, so every weekend she'd have to deal with idiots who had been stabbed in gang fights and morons who had glassed each other in clubs and stuff. She says that its so busy and they're so highly trained that she just treated them all and didn't pay attention to who they were. Obviously this is on a grander scale, but she did have to deal with people who were murderers, and she dealt with them because that's her job. She's better than me, I'd struggle to even look at scumbags like that.

It's one of the reasons I could never be a doctor. However, in this case there is a very strong motivation to find out more about the situation. The agents tried damn hard to bring him in alive, I imagine the doctors will try hard too simply because we need answers. Saving this scumbag means possibly preventing more deaths.

Also because they're professionals, not vigilantes.

Doc Holliday would have shot him. However, Holliday was a dentist, technically.

So he would have given the guy a good cleaning before the casket was closed.

Shocking to see him in the photo, healthy and young. He looked so old in the blast photo, I thought he was older anyway. Poor kid.

Not sure if it has been mentioned here yet, but I read that Tsarnaev isn't talking because he has gun shot wounds to his neck, that may be self inflicted. Probably a twisted internet rumor, but thought I would share.

    Probably untrue like everything else.

I've read that, too, but waiting for official confirmation. Also, the whole running over his own brother is still pretty sketchy since that isn't what witnesses claim to have seen.
