    My I suggest a straightjacket?

My ol' Gramps (born pre-1900's) would tell that kid to get a switch from a tree and whack his bare butt with it. Yes, these are the days when teachers paddled their students. Ouch

I went to elementary school in those days. We called them the 1970s.

When I was a kid, my neighbor (two years older than me) across the street got sent to a special school for hurling a chair at his teacher.

He was smart, but awkward and had a hair-trigger temper. And his dad was kind of a tyrant.

He didn't seem to learn a lesson about keeping himself together until after he started driving. One night, he pissed off a bunch of local teenagers in another car, and they followed him home, and were beating him up while he ran to another neighbor's house, pounding on the front door, screaming, "Help me, they're going to kill me!" He seemed to mellow out a little after that.

    This!!

I just watched the clip. OMG!! The kid isn't even remorseful, ashamed or embarassed. Smiling in fact.
Here's a idea... charge the mother for the cost of the cops' time and sue her for raising a child who exhibits behaviour that puts both staff and students at risk. Maybe she'll sell everything the kid has to pay up.

She is right. No 8 yr old should be peppersprayed but no parent of any OTHER 8 yr old would dare allow their childeren to act like he does!

You are soooooo wrong. I've known hundreds in the last 15 years. They either defend the snowflakes and blame the whole world or they flat out tell you that they don't care & they're sick of being called by the school & they're sick of the kid, period.

I realize that most people don't see the kind of behavior that these kids exhibit so something like this is remarkable. I worked around kids like this for so many years that I swear, I totally tuned out yelling and screaming. I would be on the phone & people would ask "what's all that noise" and I'd be like, "oh, I didn't notice." Being attacked was just another day at the salt mines.

Sojita works with adults but they get violent. It's probably impossible to shock him by now.

Oh wtf. You know if they restrained and injured him, there would be even more hell to pay.

What the hell else were they supposed to do, shoot him with a tranquilizer dart? The pepper spray stopped the little monster, didn't it?

Poor teachers nowadays should be getting hazard pay.

In the map below, supposedly, all the states in red allow corporal punishment in schools:

That pretty much matches the map for childhood obesity. Clearly fat kids need a whoopin'

    ........

I stand corrected, you are right.
This made me remember a certain kid who used to bully my youngest. I had enough and had a "talk" with him. He learned a new word.... respect. 7 yrs old and he never heard it before! wtf
His mom is exactly the type you describe. Sad thing is she had enough and tossed him to his dad and moved away. He is still troublesome*sigh

Seriously, though, is there something in the water in Lakewood, CO? that's a rather creepy coincidence! Don't give Aiden a gun!!
Did you know that every time a parent gives in to their kid's whines and buys them candy at the checkout lane, a kitten gets diabetes?-Dlisted

As a parent in one of those red states, I can tell you that the parent has to sign a form allowing their child to receive corporal punishment. So, in the end, its still up to the parent.
Furthermore, based on what you've read here and/or seen on that clip do you think A) mom signed anything for her precious snowflake to receive corporal punishment & B) that this little psycho is going to take corporal punishment? That little bastard would've stabbed anyone who came near him with his little sharp sticks. He was trying to batter the damn door down (where adult teachers had locked themselves away from him out of FEAR) with a damn cart!
    Kill him.

I laughed when the Mom said he has been evaluated and there is nothing mentally wrong with him, he just has anger issues. HELLO!!! You just know that he throws temper tantrums at home and gets whatever he wants so he uses the same behavior at school. Pretending there is no problem when the snowflake melts(dpwn) will not help him.
