New Aruba Witness: They Weren't Snorkeling

While Gary Giordano has told police that traveling companion Robyn Gardner disappeared in Aruba after the two had gone snorkeling, a fisherman who saw them contradicts Giordano's claim.

The witness says the couple took a walk along the reef at 4 p.m. and then drove away a short time later without going into the water, reports ABC News.

"We're investigating that material, seeing the relevance to the investigation," said Aruba Solicitor General Taco Stein.

Last week, Giordano, 50, was ordered to remain in an Aruban jail for another 16 days while police investigate what they call "serious inconsistencies" in his story about the Aug. 2 disappearance of Gardner, 35. Police on the Caribbean island presume the Maryland woman is dead.

The search for Gardner resumes on Monday. The FBI is also looking into a $1.5 million American Express accidental life insurance policy taken out on her, naming Giordano as the beneficiary.

Over the weekend, FBI agents reportedly searched Giordano's Maryland home, seizing cell phones and laptops.

Aruba Police have requested that members of the public with possible information about Gardner's disappearance call 011-297-582-0695. The American tip line for the Natalee Holloway Resource Center, which is assisting with the case, is 407-237-2295.

I don't understand why people think they will get away with that. Because that isn't obvious or anything....
Motive is a big thing they look for right away.....That is a pretty HUGE motive.

On the news today they said she met this guy on Match.com. So was she looking for some older sugar daddy and keep her boyfriend too?

I saw how a fisherman says that he did not see them snorkeling but saw them leave together from the beach. I'm curious where he put her body if he did indeed kill her.

For a life insurance party, you have to have a common interest, spouse, child, business partners, etc... For travel insurance, that may not be the case, but insurance is pretty highly regulated, so I would imagine she would have had to sign some sort of consent or acknowledgement, which makes me wonder 2 things, 1) did he forge her signature or 2) did he take one out on himself too, naming her as beneficiary as to deflect any questions, ie, "I got policies for both of us."

She was still with the boyfriend and they were about to move in together. She told him she was going on a trip with her family at the last minute. Someone was using her gmail and logged out of it. She met the guy off the internet and he asked her to go on a trip together. Not sure how long they knew each other.

Her friends said she was not into snorkeling. He stalked two other women. One of them he beat, the other he would stand outside her window at night. He also tried to take some teenager on vacation with him, but her mother caught on.
