Pa. boy, 11, charged with killing pregnant woman

An 11-year-old boy has been charged in the death of a pregnant woman who was found shot in a bedroom of her western Pennsylvania farmhouse, police said Saturday.
A Lawrence County police statement said the boy was charged with criminal homicide and criminal homicide of an unborn child in the killing of 26-year-old Kenzie Marie Houk. The victim was 8 months pregnant.
The statement said the boy had been arraigned in District Court and placed in the county jail.
Officers couldn't immediately say Saturday whether the boy and the woman were related and wouldn't give any other details.
Police said Houk's 5-year-old daughter found her mother's body Friday morning in a bedroom of their home in a wooded area in the community of Wampum.
WPXI-TV identified the dead woman's father as Jack Houk. There was no immediate response Saturday to a call by The Associated Press seeking comment from a Jack Houk of New Castle, a town next to Wampum.
A preliminary hearing is set for Thursday.
The rural community is about 35 miles northwest of Pittsburgh.

^Probably not, but drowning him would have. I hate how I condone the murder of a child when they are this evil.. ...I'm sure there's some sob story for why he's like that. Pfftt.

No, a good spanking probably wouldn't have. But when you hear about these kids killing people it makes the fact that people get riled up about spanking kids seem redundant.

Why? Very very few kids kill people. So why should that make smacking all the others ok? Unless I've completely misread your post!

What I'm saying is that when you see how out of control today's generation of kids are it doesn't seem to make sense that people get riled up about spanking kids.

I'm not saying that spanking kids is the end-all cure, but maybe if we didn't live in a culture that frowned on corporal punishment this generation of kids might not be so out of control.

I agree with you for the most part kingcap72, but wasn't spanking what "caused" that kid in Arizona to blast away those two guys (at least that's his reason).

^^There's a thin line between spanking/disciplining your kid and abusing them.

I actually made that point in a paper I wrote in college and my professor, who had two kids and didn't believe in spanking, gave me an A+.

Oh come on. Read a book about Victorian England, where corporal punishment was very much the order of the day, and you'll see that kids today are pussies by comparison. Hitting is wrong, whether it's a woman, a child or a man.
